Sullivan Fire Protection District The Sullivan Fire Protection District serves portions of Franklin, Crawford and Washington Counties in Missouri.

The District comprises approximately 174 square miles of mostly rural area, and includes several miles of Interstate 44. The Sullivan Fire District serves an increasing population

with its increases in both residential and commercial occupancies. The City of Sullivan incorporates the Sullivan Regional Airport and several medium and large manufacturing facilities. To meet the needs of the District and its taxpayers, we are a 'combination' organization, with both full-time and volunteer personnel. The District provides fire suppression, fire prevention, education, rescue, and assistance to emergency medical providers to the District's residents and visitors with one crew of full-time personnel supplemented by volunteers, responding from five fire stations.

Traffic Alert Update..Traffic is beginning to move following this two-vehicle accident on the North Service Rd., Sullivan, near SLP Lighting.
Sources on scene reported two patients being transported with injuries at this time.

The Kirkwood Fire Department announces the retirement of Fire Marshal Robert Sumpter, effective June 1, 2026 . Fire Marshal Sumpter was first appointed to the Kirkwood Fire Department on May 17, 1996 and served the citizens and community of Kirkwood for 30 years.

The Kirkwood Fire Department has planned an official ceremony that will take place on June 10, 2026 at 08:00 am @ Kirkwood Fire Station #1, 137 W. Argonne. A reception will follow directly after the ceremony. All are welcome to attend. Thank you for your leadership and dedication to the fire department. We wish you well in retirement!

PSA: We have received several calls and questions regarding large column of smoke north of town. The fire district has not received any information of controlled burns or we have not responded to any calls today that have been fire related.

Thank you Chucks Wrecker Service for having crews out to do some vehicle rescue training! Sullivan Firefighters respond to a significant amount of vehicle extrications every year. To have a chance to train on vehicles after they have been wrecked allows us to see how different models react when removing doors, roofs, or pushing the dash off of victims.
