The District comprises approximately 174 square miles of mostly rural area, and includes several miles of Interstate 44. The Sullivan Fire District serves an increasing population with its increases in both residential and commercial occupancies. The City of Sullivan incorporates the Sullivan Regional Airport and several medium and large manufacturing facilities. To meet the needs of the District and its taxpayers, we are a 'combination' organization, with both full-time and volunteer personnel. The District provides fire suppression, fire prevention, education, rescue, and assistance to emergency medical providers to the District's residents and visitors with one crew of full-time personnel supplemented by volunteers, responding from five fire stations.
