After fighting for our country, no veteran should ever have to fight to find a place to call home.

For Gene Rovak, a Vietnam War veteran and longtime runner, the Veteran 5k is about something much bigger than crossing a finish line. Returning for his 11th year, Gene shares with us the heartbreak of knowing that some of the very people who sacrificed for our freedom have been left without homes, support, or the care and dignity they deserve.

They answered the call to serve our country. Now, it’s our turn to answer theirs.

Every step can make a difference. Every registration can help change a life.

Thank you to Mary Queen of Peace Parish & School for having us out for Stewardship Day! We had a great discussion about being kind to one another, not judging the unhoused, and how they can support the unhoused through food drives, winter items, and more.

We love being in the community and getting to talk about our work, especially to such a young crowd! Kindness happens at all ages 💚
