ADVISORY: MiLEAP, WCCCD to Host College and Career Experience Day for High School Students in Detroit
WHAT:
The Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential (MiLEAP) will join Wayne County Community College District (WCCCD) in Detroit today, Oct. 30 at 9 a.m., for Career & College Experience Day, connecting high school students with college, career and workforce opportunities through the regional MI Kickoff series.
Approximately 300 high school students are expected to participate in workshops focused on career exploration, financial aid, academic preparation, health care, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, and entrepreneurship. Students will learn about college funding options, prepare for academic assessments and explore education and career pathways across a range of fields.
The event is the third of five regional MI Kickoff events designed to expand college and career exploration opportunities for young men across Michigan. Detroit recording artist Caada Sorrell, professionally known as Sada Baby, will join the event as a special guest.
