Readers Services Book Recommendation of the Week: How to Survive a Horror Story by Mallory Arnold

When legendary horror author Mortimer Queen passes, a group of authors find themselves invited to the last will and testament reading, expecting a piece of his massive fortune for themselves. Each have their own unique connection to the literary icon, some known, some soon to be discovered, and they've been waiting for their chance to step into the great author's shoes for some time. They enter the manor and wait for their prize. Instead, they are invited to play a game. The rules are simple, solve the riddle and progress to the next room. If you don't, someone dies. Because each of these authors has something to hide, and Mortimer, even from the grave, always delivers the best story. Only this time, his manor will help. You see, the Queen estate was built on the bones of the family, and the house is still very, very hungry.

Are you or a loved one a veteran? On active duty preparing to transition out of service? Come connect with local and state organizations, VA representatives, and community services offering support for veterans and their families during the Veterans’ Resource Fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Toms River Branch of the Ocean County Library.

Veterans, active-duty service members, their families, and supporters can explore resources for benefits, healthcare, employment, housing, and other services.

Some of the attending organizations include Ocean County Veterans Service Bureau, NJ Office of Women Veterans, Veterans Benefits Administration, Veterans Health Administration, and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), among others.

Introducing AI Content Controls in Libby

On title details screens, you’ll see:
• An AI disclosure that reflects publisher-provided information.
• An "AI" badge next to contributors that are disclosed as AI.
• A way to report a content concern for titles that have an unknown AI status.

New content control menu: Set preferences for discovering titles with AI contributions, including authors, narrators, artists, and translators. Several options are offered for each so you can find the right balance for you.

To select your preferences, navigate to the Content Control menu via the bottom-center Libby button, select "Content Controls," then "AI Contributions" to set your options for viewing/filtering AI content.
