Mayor Daniel T. Rodrick presents Toms River’s Rockin Fall Fest at Winding River Park (next to the ice rink) on Saturday, October 3rd from 4-9 PM featuring a KISS cover band , FREE hay rides, pumpkin patch 🎃, face painting, and carnival rides!

Come join us for a fun-filled afternoon and night to celebrate the start of Fall. The shuttle location will be announced.

Join Mayor Daniel T. Rodrick, the Ocean County Board of Commissioners and Toms River Fire Dept., Company #1 tomorrow, September 11th, 2026 at 9:00 AM at 129 Hooper Avenue for the 25th Annual 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony, where all those we lost on that tragic day, as well as the first responders and those who we lost due to sickness from the effects of toxic materials in cleanup will be remembered and honored.

The Board of Commissioners and Toms River Fire Dept., Company #1 will hold A Day of Remembrance Ceremony at 9 a.m., Friday, Sept. 11 at the Sept. 11 Memorial in the courtyard by 129 Hooper Ave., Toms River.

Please join the Board as we come together to remember the tragic events and lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001. Nineteen Ocean County residents were among the almost 3,000 people that perished that day and countless others have died as a result of Sept. 11 illnesses. We also remember the men and women of the military that were lost during the War on Terror and continue to fight to keep us safe.

Mayor Daniel T. Rodrick and Principal Matthew H. Gray from East Dover Elementary commend township employees Louis Reed and Ed Kempker for their quick thinking and compassion, which turned a potentially traumatic morning into a display of community support.

On the morning of the first day first day of school, Mr. Kempker and Mr. Reed noticed a six-year-old boy in distress while walking to school because his mother was experiencing a medical episode. Mr. Reed & Mr. Kempker immediately stepped in and took control of the situation with remarkable care and a calm demeanor. They spoke to and comforted the young boy, making sure he safely navigated across the busy intersection at Vaughn Avenue, and ensured he arrived at school safely and on time.

We thank Ed and Louis for their extraordinary act of service. Toms River is fortunate to have these gentlemen serving our community.
