This episode of The Daily from The New York Times is about loneliness, aging, and the growing role artificial intelligence is playing in the lives of older adults. The episode tells the story of a woman using AI for companionship and support as she works to maintain her independence.

It does a powerful job of highlighting the realities many older adults face, especially in rural communities like ours. Isolation, loneliness, limited transportation, and lack of daily interaction are challenges we see every day among the seniors we serve.

While technology may help fill some gaps, this episode is also a reminder of how important a real human connection is. Programs like Meals on Wheels Texoma provide more than just a meal.

For many older adults, a volunteer visit may be the only face-to-face interaction they have all day. That connection matters more than most people realize.

🚗 We Need a Little Help in Bonham! 💙

We’re currently looking for volunteers in Bonham to help deliver a daily Meals on Wheels route.

The good news? It doesn’t have to be a big commitment. You can volunteer once a week, once a month, or even serve as a substitute driver. Every little bit truly helps.

If you have about an hour around lunchtime and want to make a difference right here in your community, we would love to have you join us.
