Flood Warning from 5/27/2026 4:35 PM to 7:00 PM CDT for Grayson County, TX.

IMPACTS: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is ongoing or imminent. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through urban drainage systems.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe.

A broken line of thunderstorms is expected to move across portions of our region this evening into the overnight hours. Expected timing is after 6pm through the overnight hours.

While the severe threat appears low at this time, a few storms may be strong to marginally severe with strong winds, hail, and frequent lightning.

Have multiple ways to receive warnings. Stay weather aware. Never cross flooded roads.

Katy Trail Phase 2 (Grayson County)
The extension of the City of Denison's trail to improve safety and accessibility is underway. The trail between SS 503 and Loy Lake Road will be closed for bikers and pedestrians due to construction work. Anticipated completion is September 2026.

🌤️⛈️ Isolated to scattered storms are possible this afternoon and early evening. Gusty winds, small hail, lightning, and brief heavy rain will be the main concerns.

☁️ Most areas will be quiet Monday night into Tuesday morning before rain and storm chances increase late Tuesday into Wednesday.

💧 Locally heavy rainfall may become a concern Tuesday night and Wednesday, especially across parts of Central Texas where repeated storms could lead to renewed flooding issues.

🚨Upcoming weather this week🚨

Isolated afternoon and evening storms will remain possible today and Memorial Day Monday. Severe weather is also not expected, but a few locations could see small hail and gusty winds beneath the stronger thunderstorms.

This week brings daily chances for showers and storms across North Texas. While not everyone will see rain each day, periods of locally heavy rain and frequent lightning will remain the primary concerns.

Heading out for a day of fun on the lake this weekend? Pay attention to thunderstorm development! Make sure to check the forecast before heading out, and have a portable radio in the boat to get the latest forecasts. If the skies turn threatening, head to shore!

Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of eastern Grayson County through 500 AM CDT...

At 345 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Blue to near Coffee Mill Lake to near Dodd City. Movement was northeast at 30 mph.

HAZARDS: Winds in excess of 40 mph and nickel size hail.

IMPACTS: Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.
