As the Town of Sheridan continues to work with the Indiana Department of Transportation on the State Road 47 project, we are aware of residents concerns regarding construction disruptions and increased traffic volume on town streets. Town representatives routinely meet with INDOT officials to share information and pass along these concerns and discuss solutions.

To help mitigate local road concerns, the Town will be installing enhanced warning devices on stop signs along the 226th Street corridor, from County Line Road to Lamong Road. In addition, the Sheridan Police Department will increase patrols in the area to help manage traffic and improve safety and place speed monitoring devices in strategic locations.

The Sheridan Fire Department and Sheridan Police Department are continuously receiving project updates from INDOT and understand the impact construction may have on the delivery of public safety services. Both departments have planned accordingly to maintain effective response operations.

The Town will continue to monitor the situation, make necessary adjustments, and work closely with INDOT to ensure this project is completed safely and successfully.
