Cart Placement 101

Want to help us get your garbage picked up without any issues? Follow these simple tips:

• Place your cart at the edge of the road.
• Keep at least 3 feet of clearance from mailboxes, vehicles, trees, poles, and other obstacles.
• Keep the wheels facing your house and the lid opening toward the road.
• Put your cart out the night before your scheduled pickup.

The pictures below show good examples of proper cart placement.

Employee Spotlight & Happy Retirement

We want to recognize Jim Green on his retirement from the Jackson County Solid Waste Department after 10 years of service.

Jim served as our Assistant Enforcement Officer and was a valued member of our team. Jim continued to show up each day with a strong work ethic, dedication to public service, and a commitment to helping keep Jackson County clean.

We are thankful for the knowledge, experience, and dependability he brought to our department over the past decade. His service has made a positive impact on both our organization and the citizens we serve.

While we will miss seeing Jim around the office and in the field, we are excited for him as he begins a well-earned retirement. Please join us in thanking him for his 10 years of service and wishing him many years of happiness, good health, and time spent with family and friends.

Congratulations, Jim, and thank you for your service to Jackson County.
