This is a FREE service for all Jackson County Solid Waste customers—perfect for cleaning up around your home, farm, or property.

Employee Spotlight & Happy Retirement

We want to recognize Jim Green on his retirement from the Jackson County Solid Waste Department after 10 years of service.

Jim served as our Assistant Enforcement Officer and was a valued member of our team. Jim continued to show up each day with a strong work ethic, dedication to public service, and a commitment to helping keep Jackson County clean.

We are thankful for the knowledge, experience, and dependability he brought to our department over the past decade. His service has made a positive impact on both our organization and the citizens we serve.

While we will miss seeing Jim around the office and in the field, we are excited for him as he begins a well-earned retirement. Please join us in thanking him for his 10 years of service and wishing him many years of happiness, good health, and time spent with family and friends.

Congratulations, Jim, and thank you for your service to Jackson County.

The Jackson County Commission will accept applications for a
Driver I with the Solid Waste Department from May 29 – June 12, 2026, between the hours of 8:00am-4:30pm.

Responsibilities: Drives truck and picks up household garbage on assigned routes, operates and performs routine maintenance on truck, and provides exceptional customer service. The driver will be responsible for following all safety guidelines and must possess a minimum of a Class B CDL.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 6:00am – 2:30pm

Starting Pay - $16.26 - $17.76/hour based on experience

Benefits provided: State Retirement, BCBS Health & Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance, Life Insurance, Paid Holidays, Vacation and Sick Leave
