A hug can make a difference. 💜

On Monday, Oct. 26th, Sonoma County Library welcomed three new Micah’s Hugs Save A Life Stations at our Windsor, Healdsburg, and Central libraries, joining the station placed near the entrance of our Sebastopol Library earlier this year. These stations provide low-barrier access to naloxone. These publicly accessible boxes provide free Narcan while also connecting community members to overdose-response education and resources.

These four locations offer a meaningful reminder of love, compassion, connection, and the power of community.

We were honored to share this special moment with Micah and Michelle of Micah’s Hugs, along with Jilli and John, whose efforts honor the lives and legacies of three beloved sons: Sam Iverson, Benjamin Bathan, and Micah Jr.

We are grateful to help carry their love forward, one hug at a time. 💜

Professor Paul Steward (Paul Steward 2XG) is an accomplished educator, professional musician, and enrolled tribal member of the Elem Indian Colony of Pomo Indians.
