North Bay Immigrant Youth Union

North Bay Immigrant Youth Union The North Bay Immigrant Youth Union (NBIYU) is an immigrant youth-led grassroots organization fighting for the rights of the immigrant community.

(Formerly the DREAM Alliance of Sonoma County)
The North Bay Immigrant Youth Union (NBIYU) strives towards inclusivity and unity, aspiring to organize the greater North Bay. We have chosen three action words “Educating, Organizing, and Uniting” as our slogan. Remembering the words of the late great Martin Luther King, Jr. who said, “The supreme task is to organize and unite people so that their an

ger becomes a transforming force.” We hold true that organizing and uniting brings strength to our movement and provides a transformative voice to our community’s needs through which education continuously plays a vital role. Our strategy of engaging immigrant youth in the North Bay aims at organizing around three specific areas: Health, Education, and Ending Deportations. We have crafted campaigns based on these three goals that seek to increase healthcare access to all Californians, providing resources and increasing financial aid access for students, and fighting to end the deportations separating immigrant families. NBIYU believes that by building community, creating spaces for education, and organizing on the grassroots level we can better address the issues impacting our community so as to have the change we seek.
