Last week, SCFD-EMS/Medic Ambulance had the honor of attending the 32nd Anniversary of the Sonoma County Survivors’ Reunion, a powerful event that brings survivors together with the first responders, EMS crews, dispatchers, hospital teams, and community partners who played a role in their care.

This event is a reminder of what a strong EMS system can mean for a patient, a family, and an entire community.

This year, four cases involving SCFD-EMS were recognized, with 10 of our team members honored for their efforts. Each case reflects the quick action, teamwork, clinical skill, and coordinated care that can change the outcome of a call.

We are grateful to stand alongside the survivors, families, and agencies who make this event so meaningful. Congratulations to all of this year’s honorees, and thank you to everyone who continues to serve our community with care and purpose.

Today, we pause to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Memorial Day is a reminder of the courage, sacrifice, and commitment it takes to serve something greater than yourself. In EMS, we see that spirit of service every day through the first responders, healthcare workers, military members, veterans, and families who continue to give so much to their communities.

This Memorial Day, we carry that gratitude with us as we honor those who gave everything in service to our country.

From all of us at SCFD-EMS/Medic Ambulance, we remember. We honor. We thank you.

EMS Week 2026 | May 17–23

Happy EMS Week to the people behind every response, every transport, and every moment of care. 🚑

This week is about recognizing all the EMS professionals and support staff across Medic Ambulance/SCFDEMS who continue to show up for their communities and for each other every single day.

We have the privilege of serving Sonoma County communities, and that’s only possible because of the people behind the uniform. The professionalism, compassion, teamwork, and heart this team brings to the job does not go unnoticed.

EMS Week is a reminder to celebrate the work being done every day across our organization and the impact it has on the communities we serve.

Thank you for everything you do. Caring is Our Core. ❤️

Preparedness starts long before an emergency happens.

We were proud to join the Fire & Earthquake Safety Expo at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds alongside our partners at Sonoma County Fire District, connecting with the community around disaster readiness, emergency response and hands-only CPR.

From walking visitors through our AMBUBUS and response vehicles to sharing practical preparedness tips and CPR education, the day was all about helping people feel more informed and ready when it matters most.
Events like this are a reminder that resilience is built together, through planning, training and community partnerships. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to learn with us.

More scenes from Every 15 Minutes at Rancho Cotate High School.

From an EMS standpoint, it connects the decisions made behind the wheel to what happens next, the response, the patients, and the outcome. Through a coordinated simulation alongside local public safety partners, students get a closer look at those consequences, helping reinforce safer choices for everyone.

Yesterday, SCFD-EMS/Medic Ambulance participated in the Every 15 Minutes program at Rancho Cotate High School, a coordinated, real-world simulation designed to show students the impact of impaired and distracted driving.

Through a staged crash scenario, students saw how an incident like this unfolds from the 911 response to patient care and transport. Working alongside our public safety partners, our crews staffed two transporting units, provided on-scene care, and transported three mock patients to the hospital as part of the simulation.

This program brings together local law enforcement, fire agencies, hospitals, and community partners to create a meaningful, realistic learning experience, one that’s meant to stay with students long after the day ends.

Our Employee Appreciation Night at Nitro City Racing 🏁

We brought the SCFD-EMS team together for a night of go-kart racing and friendly competition. From the first lap to the final race, it was a chance to connect, spend time together, and enjoy a different pace from the day-to-day.

We’re grateful for the people behind SCFD-EMS and everything they bring to the job day in and day out!

Our recent visit at Sonoma County Ag Days! 🌾🚑

SCFD-EMS was proud to be part of this year’s event, connecting with nearly 4,000 attendees from elementary schools across Sonoma County. Over two days, students got a closer look at our ambulances, learned what it’s like to be a first responder, and asked some great questions along the way.

Sonoma County Ag Days is all about giving students hands-on exposure to agriculture, local industries, and the people who help keep our communities running. From farm and ranch animals to interactive exhibits, it’s a chance for kids to learn where their food comes from and explore different career paths, including EMS.

We’re always grateful for the opportunity to be out in the community, share what we do, and hopefully inspire the next generation!
