Dear Isenberg Families,

We are excited to celebrate the end of the school year with our upcoming End-of-Year (EOY) Ceremonies! You should have already received information from your child’s teacher. In case you missed it....EOY ceremonies will take place this Friday and next Tuesday. Check the picture for the grade level specific times.

As a reminder:
• Families are invited to attend the scheduled ceremony times.
• No volunteer form or background check is required to attend EOY ceremonies.
• Some teachers may choose to have additional classroom celebrations; however, those are for students only.

We look forward to celebrating our students and all of their hard work this year with you! If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s teacher.

We love Mrs. Restrepo!!

During Teacher Appreciation Week, we proudly celebrate the dedication, passion, and hard work of educators like Zeila Kathrine Restrepo Bolívar, whose commitment to the field of education continues to serve as a source of inspiration for future generations.

Zeila currently serves as a Kindergarten Dual Language Immersion Spanish teacher at Isenberg Elementary in Rowan County. Originally from Medellín, Colombia, Zeila brings an essential passion to the classroom, one that helps to foster “bilingualism and biliteracy in young learners while helping them build a strong academic and cultural foundation
for lifelong learning”. Zeila holds a bachelor's degree in Basic Education with an emphasis in Humanities and English as a Foreign Language, as well as a master's degree in Psychological Intervention in Development and Education. She has over 15 years of experience in education and has taught a variety of grade levels including elementary and university aged students.

Zeila believes that “being a teacher is embarking on an adventure”, an adventure that she sees as a vocation. When asked what she loves most about her role as an educator, Zeila's response was “everything that comes with the journey, building meaningful connections with my students, getting to know them as individuals, and working as a team with their families to support their growth… I strive to extend learning beyond the classroom by bringing a global perspective into everything I do. I truly believe I may be teaching future leaders, students who will grow with curiosity about the world”. She was inspired to become a teacher by her mother, from whom she learned that “when you truly love what you do, that comes from the heart and can be shared with others… the seed my mother planted in me continues to grow, and I strive every day to carry on her legacy by being the best teacher I can be, in honor of her”.

If you are planning to attend Field Day or an End of Year celebration, ALL adult attendees are required to complete the Tier 1 volunteer requirements, which includes:
1. Volunteer Interest Form (found here: Volunteer Form (https://files.smartsites.parentsquare.com/7521/rss_volunteer_interest_form_new_for_25-26_3.pdf))
2. Background Check

Every adult attendee must be on the list of approved Tier 1 volunteers before being admitted to Field Day or the EOY celebrations. We do have some forms available in the office or you can print one from the link above.

The approval process takes 1-2 weeks, so please don't wait! Tier 1 volunteers DO NOT have to attend a volunteer training. **If you have already completed the Tier 2 volunteer requirements (interest form, background check, and training), you have already met the requirements to attend Field Day/ EOY celebrations, so no further action is needed.

You can visit this link for more detailed information about the volunteer process and guidelines: https://www.rssed.org/rss-volunteer-information. Please contact Aaron Barr at [email protected] with further questions or assistance.
