The Town of Chili, located in Monroe County, is a suburb of Rochester, New York. Chili is a community that is contrasted by a suburban character primarily in the geographic area north of Black Creek and a rural agricultural character south of Black Creek. Chili has a variety of recreational areas including eight town parks, one county park, two museums, a disc golf course, a public nature area, t

wo semi-private golf courses, and two boat launches - one on the Genesee River and one on Black Creek. Each year the town's annual summer festival, the 'Chili-E Fest' draws thousands of people to entertainment, food vendors, and a fabulous firework display.

Top Visitor Spotlight!

If you spend time at the Chili Community Center, chances are you have seen Marc around. Whether he is walking laps on the indoor track, enjoying a meal at the Senior Center, or relaxing with a cup of coffee in the lobby, Marc has become one of the familiar faces that helps make the CCC feel like home.

Originally from Montreal and now a Chili resident for more than 30 years, Marc was recently recognized as the Chili Community Center’s Top Visitor since opening, with an incredible 1,086 member scans through May 18, 2026.

Known for his quiet demeanor, friendly smile, and consistent presence nearly every day, Marc represents what the Chili Community Center is all about connection, routine, wellness, and community.

To celebrate this fun milestone, Marc was presented with a commemorative plaque and 5th Anniversary pin by Parks and Recreation Director, Mike Curley.

If you see Marc around the building, be sure to say hello and congratulate him on this special recognition. Thank you, Marc, for being such an important part of our CCC family and helping make this building a welcoming place for everyone.

STAFF SPOTLIGHT — FULL-TIME CHILI RECREATION TEAM

As we wrap up our 5th Anniversary Staff Spotlight series, we want to recognize the full-time Chili Recreation team the people working every day behind the scenes to help make the Chili Community Center a truly special place.

This team is constantly moving. Planning programs. Coordinating events. Meeting with instructors. Answering calls and emails. Managing registrations. Setting up rooms. Troubleshooting schedules. Creating social media content. Supporting leagues. Building partnerships. Solving problems. Finding new ideas. Then doing it all again the next day.

They are the hustle and muscle behind Chili Recreation.

What makes this team unique is that no two days are ever the same — and no one wears just one hat.

On any given day, they might be a coach, chef, mentor, role model, inventor, scientist, artist, photographer, event planner, referee, counselor, marketer, decorator, listener, or problem solver. They help run sports leagues, family events, senior programs, preschool activities, camps, community partnerships, room rentals, special events, and programs for every age and ability level.

But beyond the programs and events, this team helped build something bigger.

Together with our incredible staff, members, volunteers, instructors, and community partners, they helped shape the culture of the Chili Community Center into what it is today — welcoming, active, creative, inclusive, and community driven.

This building is more than walls and programs. It is people. Relationships. Traditions. Connection.

We are proud of what happens here in Chili, and proud of the people who help make it happen every single day.

Thank you to our full-time Chili Recreation team for your leadership, passion, creativity, flexibility, and commitment to serving this community. The impact you make reaches far beyond the walls of this building.

ChiliCares is proud to host a Community Shoe Drive supporting Soles4Souls throughout the month of June 2026.

We are collecting new and gently worn shoes to help give them new purpose. Donations support Soles4Souls’ 4Opportunity program, which helps create sustainable economic opportunities for families facing hardship by turning donated shoes into resources for small businesses around the world.

Soles4Souls also helps bring brand-new shoes directly back into communities through the 4EveryKid program. Locally, that impact was recently felt when 100 brand-new pairs of shoes were donated to Discovery School in Rochester, NY.

Please donate shoes that are clean, wearable, and paired together.

This summer, ChiliCares will be hosting monthly Community Drives at the Chili Community Center to support local and national organizations making a difference.

June: Soles4Souls Shoe Drive
Collecting new and gently worn shoes to support Soles4Souls, a nonprofit that creates opportunity through shoes and clothing.

July: Veterans Outreach Center Summer Essentials Drive
Collecting summer essentials for local veterans, including undershirts, underwear, gym shorts, flip flops/water shoes, sunscreen, and aloe.

August: Level The Playing Field Sporting Goods Drive
Collecting gently used sporting equipment to help kids in under-resourced communities access youth sports.
