The Riverside Police Department is a department of dedicated professional police officers and civilian personnel committed to providing the highest quality of service and protection to the community. Please note, our social media pages are not monitored 24-hours a day. If y
ou wish to report a crime, request an officer, or have a concern that should be handled in a timely manner, please DO NOT leave a message here. If you have a problem that does not require an officer’s immediate response, please call our 24-hour non-emergency Dispatch Center at (951) 354-2007. Some past crimes and incidents may be reported online by going to www.rpdonline.org/reports. The purpose of our social media is to present matters of public interest concerning the Riverside Police Department’s programs, activities, news stories, and photos. We welcome your comments. Any department social media site that elicits or allows comments from the public shall be designated as a limited public forum for First Amendment purposes. As such, and in order to remain in compliance with other laws, department social media site content and comments containing any of the following forms of content shall not be allowed and shall be promptly removed:
• Profane or threatening language or content
• Sexual content or links to sexual content
• Content that promotes, fosters, or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, ancestry, age, religion, gender or gender expression, marital status, AIDS/HIV, status with regard to public assistance, national origin, medical condition, political activities or affiliations, military or veteran status, physical or mental disability, or sexual orientation
• Solicitations or commerce, including but not limited to, advertising of any nongovernment related event, or business or product for sale
• Conduct or encouragement of illegal activity; • Information that may compromise the safety or security of an individual, the public or public systems
• Potentially libelous or defamatory comments
• Violates the copyright, trademark or other intellectual property rights of any person or entity
• Violates a local, state, or federal regulation or law, including privacy laws.
