YOUR VOICE MATTERS. YOUR COUNTY DESERVES ACCOUNTABILITY.

Recent events involving the Riverside County Sheriff's Department have raised important questions about accountability, transparency, and the appropriate limits of law enforcement authority.

As the Board of Supervisors evaluates options for additional oversight of the Sheriff's Department, 📣we want to hear from you.

This is about more than one incident. It's about strengthening public trust, ensuring accountability, and making sure the institutions entrusted with public safety serve the people of Riverside County.

I stood by my vote in April, and I stand by it today.

An oath of office is a commitment to uphold the law, not an exemption from it.

Accountability begins with those entrusted to enforce our laws. And taxpayers should not be left paying the price when that authority is exceeded.

I had the opportunity to tour the Ironworkers Local 416 & 433 Apprenticeship Program and learn more about the hands-on training and career opportunities available to those entering the skilled trades.

It was great to see firsthand how this program is preparing the next generation of ironworkers and providing valuable pathways to good-paying careers.

Thank you to everyone who joined Supervisor Karen Spiegel and me for our Donuts & Dialogue event on Wednesday, October 7, at the Eddie D. Smith Senior Center! We had a wonderful turnout!

It was great to connect with community members and engage in meaningful conversations, hear residents’ concerns, and discuss ways we can continue improving our communities.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to share their thoughts and ideas. Your voices are important, and we look forward to continuing these conversations!

Today, I was proud to attend the ribbon cutting of UC Riverside’s new Undergraduate Teaching and Learning Facility!

During my time in the State Assembly, I had the privilege of championing legislation and advocating for state investment that helped make this important project possible. It’s incredibly rewarding to see that work come to fruition and this vision become a reality.

This new facility represents an investment in our students, their futures, and the continued growth of higher education in Riverside County.

I’m proud to have played a role in advancing this project and look forward to the opportunities it will create for generations of students to come!

I’m inviting our community to join us for a Public Listening Session on Sheriff’s Department Oversight.

Earlier this year, the Board of Supervisors approved an Ad Hoc Committee to Evaluate Advisory and Oversight Options for the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. Now, it’s time to hear directly from you.

This listening session is an important opportunity to share your concerns, experiences, questions, and ideas. Community input will help inform the committee’s work and future recommendations to the Board.

I encourage District 1 residents and community members to come out, participate, and make your voice heard.
