💙 October 28 is National First Responders Day! We’re so grateful for the dedicated first responders who help keep our community safe.

First responders play an important role in connecting survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse with the support and resources they need. We’re also happy to welcome them to Healthy Kids Day each April, where kids love getting to meet and learn from these local heroes!

Thank you for all you do to make our community safer and stronger! 💙

💜 We were so moved to meet a woman today who shared with us that she escaped her own domestic violence situation 24 years ago. Now, she and a friend are paying it forward by giving back to other survivors, and we’re truly touched by their kindness.

They generously donated household essentials and personal care items for our Domestic Violence Awareness Month Drive, and we couldn't be more grateful for their kindness.

It means so much to see people turn their own experiences into support and hope for others. 💜

Save the Date! Join all six anti-violence coalitions (Violence Free Minnesota; Mending the Sacred Hoop; Minnesota Indian Women's Sexual Assault Coalition; Minnesota Children's Alliance; Minnesota Coalition Against Sexual Assault; and Minnesota Alliance on Crime) for Action Day 2027 on Thursday, February 11, 2027 at the Minnesota State Capitol Rotunda.

The theme for Action Day 2027 is Safety Today, Prevention Tomorrow: Sustainable Futures in Minnesota.

HOPE Coalition’s Annual Domestic Violence Memorial is now at Elgin City Hall in Elgin, MN, through October 25th 💜 The memorial will then move to Lake City Marina – Ohuta Pavilion from October 26th through November 1st.

HOPE Coalition was honored to be featured on KIMT News 3 sharing our domestic violence memorial display. Our Outreach Manager, Melissa, joined other local advocates in highlighting the unique barriers rural survivors face.

Behind every name remembered is a life that mattered. Thank you to Violence Free Minnesota for honoring those lost to domestic violence, KIMT News 3 for sharing this important story, and the local organizations helping keep these stories visible by hosting the memorial.
