Today is National Coming Out Day, an annual LGBTQ awareness day observed on October 11 to support anyone coming out of the closet. Being rural offers unique challenges for LGBTQ people and their families: our communities and resource hubs are often smaller and further apart than they are in the cities. It can be hard to find events for us, by us, that aren't a 2 hour drive away. That's why, on this day, we are excited to announce the date for Red Wing Pride, 2027! Join us on Friday, June 18th, at Red Wing Central Park for an all-ages celebration of the colorful tapestry of humanity we are all a part of. 🌈 🏳️‍🌈

The whole community is invited to celebrate the freedom of voting.
The event is sponsored by the Red Wing Public Discipleship Group, people of faith from several downtown churches who invite voters to use their responsibility as we practice democracy and protect the right to vote for our neighbors.
The kick-off will be at 10 am with music and speakers. Throughout the 10 am - 2 pm event, there will be voter registration help, booths, games and refreshments. Volunteers will be available to answer any questions. We can walk together to the Government Center to cast our ballots. (Early voting will be open at the Goodhue County Government Center, 519 W. 5th St., from 9 am - 3 pm.) Eligible voters should bring their Goodhue County Voter Registration or proof of residence.

One core message is as a community we are coming together to practice democracy, practice our rights, and love our neighbors. Everyone in our community is welcome and valued. Voting is a privilege. All are welcome. Volunteers are needed. Sign up here to bring treats or volunteer:
