Housing & Safety Net Services provide over 15,000 households annually with client advocacy, utility assistance, employment assistance and transitional housing.

Early Childhood & Family Services promote the healthy growth and development of approximately 650 children aged 0-5 each year by supporting and educating low-income parents. Youth & Family Services help thousands of at-risk youth ages 5-21 break the intergenerational cycle of poverty through after-school enrichment activities, college and career exploration, job training, and academic support. Seniors & Adults with Disabilities Services promote the independence of over 2,000 vulnerable individuals annually through case management, money management, transportation assistance and scheduled meals and activities.

When the gap between what people earn and what housing costs keeps growing, more people become one emergency away from not being able to afford their housing.

Reducing homelessness also looks like preventing people from losing their housing in the first place. Different situations call for different kinds of help: short-term rent assistance after lost work hours, legal help or mediation when facing an eviction, or ongoing rental assistance when income can’t keep up.

Prevention is easy to overlook because success often looks like someone simply staying in their home. Since 2021, Supportive Housing Services funding has helped more than 22,000 people across the Metro region avoid homelessness through prevention services.

Our community is better when our neighbors are stably housed. Sustaining these investments helps ensure people can continue to get help before losing their housing.

We are incredibly grateful to Bombas for their generous donation of socks to Impact NW! Thanks to their support, we can help keep our neighbors warm, comfortable, and cared for as the colder months approach.

And while we're officially well-stocked on socks (thank you, Bombas!), we still need your help!

As temperatures drop, we're collecting warm clothing, specifically adult-sized winter coats, to help individuals and families across our community stay warm this season.

Impact NW Senior Services is hosting a FREE Medicare Open Enrollment Information Session to help community members prepare for 2027 coverage.

Medicare Open Enrollment runs October 15–December 7, when most Medicare recipients can make changes to their plans for 2027. This year, staying informed is especially important: Providence Health Plan will end all of its Medicare Advantage plans beginning January 1, 2027.

We love seeing what our Pathways to Manufacturing students are creating!

The program is our manufacturing pre-apprenticeship program, for 17-24 year olds with high school diploma or GED. Pathways is for students who are still in high school giving them hands-on experience and skills that can lead to careers in manufacturing. Now expanded from 7 to 10 weeks, students have even more time to learn, create, and explore what’s possible.

Impact NW is hiring a SUN Site Supervisor to help lead and grow SUN programming at Whitman Elementary in Portland!

In this role, you’ll co-manage SUN activities while building strong relationships with students, families, school partners, and the surrounding community. You’ll support program development, community outreach, service coordination, staff and volunteer supervision, resource development, budgeting, and program planning.

We’re especially looking for someone with creative interaction skills and strong community-building skills who enjoys bringing people together and finding new ways to engage the community.

$59,474/year | Full-time (40 hours/week) | Exempt
Location: Whitman Elementary, Portland, OR
Position through June 30, 2027, unless program funding is reinstated
