Meet Ed 🤝

Ed has been volunteering with Path Home for just over a year. What drew him in? A deep appreciation for the people working to reach individuals before they experience homelessness.

After visiting Portland for more than 30 years, Ed moved here a little over two years ago and quickly noticed how visible homelessness is in the city. Wanting to make even a small difference, he decided to give his time. You’ll usually find Ed in the kitchen — a space he says has become a really comfortable place to be.

Originally from the East Coast, Ed moved to LA to pursue his MFA before eventually making his way to Portland for friends (and the parks he loves in and around the city).

When he’s not volunteering, Ed is painting. His process is hands-on and layered: photography, sanding plexiglass, applying gesso, and painting on top. Some of his pieces take years to complete.
