Pumper 1 and personnel responded to assist Meigs County EMS with a lifting assistance request on Sunday evening. Crews assisted the EMS personnel with getting the patient loaded for transport and returned to quarters.

Just a reminder that we are hosting our 2nd chicken and rib bbq this Sunday, June 7th. Serving with begin at 11am with a menu of a chicken half or boneless pork ribs, served with a baked potato, baked beans, and a dinner roll. The meals cost $10 each. Call in orders are available by calling 740-444-5145 beginning at 8am Sunday.

This bbq is being sponsored by The Farm at Rutland, owned by Bobby and Tammy Ball of Pomeroy. Beginning in mid-June they will have farm fresh, home-grown fruits and vegetables at their market on Higley Road. Located near Rutland off of Leading Creek, they are the white barn with the green roof! Stop in and see them, and special thanks to them for sponsoring this bbq.

Kings Hill Road, Bedford Township

Crews were alerted to a report of an unknown line down due to a tree branch falling on it. Apparatus responded and found a downed telephone line.

Bedford Township was contacted for barricades and Frontier was notified about the line. Crews returned to quarters when a Bedford Township Trustee arrived on-scene. Responding was Pomeroy Pumper 1.

🚨🚨🚨 BBQ NEXT SUNDAY 🚨🚨🚨

The Pomeroy Firemen’s Association will host their 2nd of 3 chicken and rib luncheons next Sunday, June 7th. The menu will consist of a chicken half or boneless pork ribs, baked potato, baked beans and dinner roll for $10. Serving begins at 11am, with call-in orders beginning at 8am on June 7th, by calling 740-444-5145.

Thanks to The Farm at Rutland and owner Bobby Ball, the cost of this bbq has been sponsored by a generous donation. Please go see them at their location on Higley Road, just off of Leading Creek Road, in Rutland. Opening in mid-June, they specialize in fresh and homegrown fruits and vegetables.

Single Vehicle Non-Injury Accident
State Route 681, Bedford Township

Crews were dispatched for traffic control on a single vehicle accident on State Route 681, near the intersection of Hemlock Grove Road, in Bedford Township. Pumper 1’s crew arrived to find a vehicle in the ditch line on its passenger side tires. The driver reported a deer was in the roadway and as they went to the right, the rock along the ditch pulled the vehicle off the road and into the water. All occupants were out of the vehicle and crews remained on-site until OSHP arrived to take over the scene. Riverside Towing was able to remove the car damage free and the owner drove it home.

Responding was Pomeroy Pumper 1, the Meigs County Sheriff’s Office, Ohio State Highway Patrol, and Riverside Towing.

Two Vehicle Accident
U.S. 33, Bedford Township

Crews were alerted to a two-vehicle, non-injury accident on U.S. 33, near the McGrath Road intersection in Bedford Township. Upon arrival, both vehicles were off the roadway with one sustaining front end damage and the other damage to a vehicle trailer and tire. Crews removed debris in the roadway and made contact with the wrecker company, Riverside Auto & Towing LLC, to see if they had a tire to match the damage one. Luckily, owner Lee Richards of Riverside, had the same style tire on his own trailer saving the out of town residents a wait until a tire was found. Riverside picked up the damaged car and fixed the trailer tire. All other units returned to quarters.

Responding was Pomeroy Pumper 1 and the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
