The Meigs High Scool Jazz Band will be preforming on May 12, 2026 6:30 pm at the Pomeroy Court Street Plazza area.....in the event of rain, the Concert will move to the Maple Lawn Room on Second Street.

On March 2, 2026 the Village Council of Pomeroy held the First Reading of Ordinance 824-26 that "Prohibits The Feeding, Harboring or Housing of Feral Cats within the Village of Pomeroy". This Ordinance was written due to the exploding population of Feral Cats within the Village due to people randomly feeding the Feral Cat population in and around public places as well as private dwellings. Public Health concerns have been raised by multiple Citizen complaints.

February 28th 2026 is the DUE date for all Solid Waste Haulers to obtain your 2026 Waste Hauler Permits. If you are a Commercial, Residential Trash provider within the Village of Pomeroy or if you provide Dumpsters or Truck Service for Bulk items (clean outs, old furniture disposal, cardboard or other recycle solid waste ect.) you are required to obtain a Waste Haulers Permit.

*** 2026 Rental Registration are Due February 28th if own rental property property within the Village of Pomeroy. This includes Land Contracts NOT officially registered with the Meigs County Courthouse.

To All Property Owners of Multi-Story Buildings in Downtown Pomeroy. By Village Ordinance you are responsible to repair or cover all windows that have broken or missing window panes. Leaving these unrepaired is adding to the problem of Pigeons and other birds nesting in upper stories causing health and safety conditions within the Downtown Shopping District.

The Office of Code Enforcement will begin sending Violation Notices to Property Owners and Tenants. Failure to repair can result in a summons into Mayor's Court.

We hope by everyone cooperating in this matter, we hope we can make our Downtown district more attractive and safer for shoppers and residents.

The Village of Pomeroy is currently noticing a slight drop in our our water reserves. We urge residents to report any unusual water running or pooling in and around their residence, that does not appear to be related to snow/ice thaw, as the thaw begins this week.

Please call the Water Department at 740-992-3121to report any unusual, noticeable water movement in the Village.

1. Garbage, Trash Waster haulers permits due by February 28, 2026
for Residential, Commercial and Recyclable providers.

2. Rental Registration- This include all residential and non-recorded residential land contracts.

** Permits for the above must be obtained no later than February 28, 2026
