🔬🚀 Calling All Curious Lions! 🦁💚💛

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) plays such an important role in helping young minds grow! STEM experiences encourage creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and curiosity about the world around us. Giving children opportunities to explore, experiment, and discover through hands-on learning helps build skills that will benefit them both inside and outside the classroom!

Texas Tech University is hosting a FREE Family STEM Night, and this is a wonderful opportunity for our New Deal Lions to experience learning in a fun and exciting way!

📅 Thursday, November 5

⏰ 4:00–7:00 PM

📍 Texas Tech University – SUB Ballroom

This is a come-and-go event for students and families, so stop by and let those curious minds explore! We encourage our Lion families to take advantage of this awesome opportunity! 🦁✨

Lion Families,

This morning, we successfully completed a routine lockdown drill as part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe and secure learning environment for all students and staff.

We are pleased to report that the drill was a success! All students and staff promptly moved to their designated safe locations, and followed established safety procedures. Additionally, all safety and communication systems functioned as expected.

Our students and staff did an outstanding job demonstrating the importance of being prepared, remaining calm, and following procedures during an emergency situation.

These routine drills are an important part of our campus safety plan and allow us to practice our procedures, evaluate our readiness, and ensure we are prepared to respond effectively should an actual emergency occur.

The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priority. We appreciate the cooperation of our students and the continued support of our families as we work together to keep New Deal Elementary a safe place to learn and grow.

Thank you for your continued trust and support!

Our Pre-K students have been learning all about the number 8, and what better way to show it than by making their very own spider hats with 8 legs?! 🕷️❤️
