Texas Strong !!

Maj. Gen. Tom Suelzer, the Adjutant General of Texas, recognized six Soldiers for their extraordinary bravery during an active shooter incident at the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Field Office in Dallas. Their quick actions and courage in rendering aid to three critically wounded detainees exemplify the highest traditions of military service, valor, and professionalism.

Today, the 2nd Battalion, 142nd Infantry Regiment proudly uncased its colors and guidons, marking their return to the great state of Texas after a long 9 months in the Sinai Peninsula. Their dedication and hard work in Sinai enabled the Multi National Forces & Observers mission to achieve great heights and helped ensure peace between Israel and Egypt. Welcome home!

Today Soldiers from the BN celebrated their final workout in the Sinai with a competition style team workout led by CSM Rodney Morgan and SSG Richard Baker. It wasn't easy but every team finished in under an hour overall!

Today, the Battalion concluded its tenure in the Sinai with a medals parade and a Transfer of Authority Ceremony. USBATT 72(2-142 IN) cased its colors and guidons as the new USBATT 73(2-121 IN) unveiled theirs. With this symbolic gesture, USBATT 73 officially took over mission command in Sinai.

We wish USBATT 73 all the best as we focus our efforts on returning home.

Every year the South Camp at the MFO Sinai puts on a derby car race. This year we didn't enter in the main event but were able to race a legacy US Derby Car. Yep thats the Mystery Machine driven by 1SG Michael VanDenBoom and Co-captained by 1SG Bradley Burleson who is clutching Private Cluckins in a death grip!

Check out these videos of the runs! We ended up winning the legacy car race with the longest distance and fastest track time of every car that competed in both brackets!

Congratulations to our newest Basic Leaders Course graduates!

SPC Ratcliff, SGT Williams, SGT Leak, SGT Silva, and SGT Castro all completed a multi week leadership course into Basic Army Leadership.

SGT Silva earned the Iron Soldier award for having the highest physical fitness score at the course!
