AISD Veterans Day Celebration is coming up!

We want to honor those who have served or are currently serving in any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces. We saved photos and information submitted in previous years for this year’s presentation. There’s no better way to tell the Abernathy ISD story than to let our students tell it!

Today, we had the privilege of welcoming Texas State Representative incumbent Ken King to Abernathy ISD, and our students led the way!

From touring our campuses and showcasing our incredible facilities to having meaningful conversations about the great things happening in our classrooms, we were proud to show Representative King firsthand what makes Abernathy so special.

It’s one thing to talk about public education in Austin. It’s another to walk our halls, meet our students and staff, and see the incredible things happening every single day. We are grateful to Representative King for taking the time to visit, listen, and learn more about our district. Our hope is that when conversations about public education take place in Austin, the faces, stories, and voices of our students and educators are remembered.

We are proud of our schools, proud of our people, and even prouder to be Abernathy Antelopes!

🏆THE BEST HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL IN TEXAS IS AN ABERNATHY ANTELOPE! 🏆

Let that sink in for a minute.

The Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP), an organization representing more than 6,400 campus administrators across Texas, has officially named our very own TATE ALBRIGHT as the TEXAS HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL OF THE YEAR!

Out of all the incredible high school leaders across this great state, one of the very best is walking the halls of Abernathy High School every single day.

And we couldn't be more proud! Here's the thing about great leadership. It's not about the title on your door. It's not about being the loudest person in the room. And it's certainly not about the awards hanging on your wall. It's about the people who are better because you showed up.

It's the students who feel seen. The teachers who feel supported. The families who feel heard. The culture that's built one conversation, one decision, and one relationship at a time. That's the kind of leadership that changes schools. And that's the kind of leadership Mr. Albright brings to Abernathy ISD.

What's really special about this recognition is that it doesn't just shine a spotlight on Mr. Albright. It shines a spotlight on our teachers, our students, our staff, and our entire community. It reminds the rest of Texas of something we've known for a long time. You don't have to be a big school to do BIG things. You just have to have people who believe in what they're doing and care deeply about who they're doing it for.

Mr. Albright, congratulations on this incredible and well-deserved honor. Thank you for the countless hours, the difficult decisions, the investment in people, and the heart you pour into Abernathy High School. The state of Texas now knows what we get to experience every day. We've got one of the best right here at home.

And the best part? The real reward isn't the recognition. It's the impact you're making on the next generation of Antelopes.

Congratulations, Mr. Albright! We are incredibly proud to call you OUR principal!

Students today. Leaders tomorrow. Antelopes forever!

Abernathy FFA is proud to announce a generous $2,000 donation from AgTexas Farm Credit Services in support of our local agricultural education program and student leaders.

These funds will directly sponsor our six national qualifiers as they head to Indianapolis next week to compete in the prestigious National Agriscience Fair during the National FFA Convention. Qualifying for the national competition is a remarkable achievement that reflects months of research, hands-on application, and dedication from our students.

Congratulations to all six qualifying students, and a sincere thank you to AgTexas Farm Credit Services for their continued commitment to our students and the future of agriculture!

📣 MORE PAY, FREE LUNCH, AND THE BEST KIDS AROUND! WE WANT YOU AT ABERNATHY ISD!📣

At last night's board meeting, the Abernathy ISD Board of Trustees approved an INCREASE in substitute teacher pay!

Our NEW Substitute Pay Rates:
Non-Degreed Substitute: $80/day
Degreed Substitute: $100/day
Degreed/Certified Teacher Substitute: $110/day

Every substitute teacher can now enjoy a FREE meal in our school cafeteria each day they work! And if you haven't experienced our incredible salad bar or the great entrées our cafeteria staff prepares, you're missing out!

But there's a bigger reason behind this increase.

We want MORE great people in our classrooms! We want those who already substitute for us to know how much we appreciate them, and we hope this encourages them to spend even more days with our students.

Just as importantly, we want our teachers to know that WE CARE ABOUT THEM, TOO! Our teachers pour their hearts into our kids every single day. When they need to take a day off, whether it's for their family, an appointment, or simply because life happens, we want them to feel confident that someone great is there to take care of their students.

That's where YOU come in!

Whether you're retired, looking to earn some extra income, have a flexible schedule, or simply love working with kids, there's a place for you at Abernathy ISD!

We truly believe we have the BEST kids and the BEST teachers around, and we're confident that once you spend a day in our classrooms, you'll understand what makes this place so special!

To our current substitutes, THANK YOU! We appreciate you more than you know. Come see us more often!

If you've thought about becoming a substitute, we'd love to have you join the Antelope family!

Great kids.
Great people.
Better pay.
Free lunch.
One incredible school district!

COME SUB WITH US!

Students today, leaders tomorrow, Antelopes forever!
