Mark your calendars! Napa Dia de los Mu***os is on November 7th from 3-8pm downtown!

This event is a vibrant celebration of life and remembrance, where colorful altars and joyful festivities come together to honor our loved ones. Napa Dia De Los Mu***os is a family-friendly event that celebrate the arts, music, dance, cultural traditions, food, and our community. The main stage at Veterans Park will have several performances by the Napa Valley Language Academy & Ballet Folklórico El Valle of St. Helena Dance Groups, and musical performances by Bugambilia, Mariachi Bonitas, and Quinta Alianza. There will be a community altar, low-rider car altars, school shoe box altars and other public art displays that you won’t want to miss.

Other exciting additions to the event this year:
• “La Catrina Parade” at 5:30pm on Brown Street – Come dressed up!
• Small stage on Brown Street with local artists
• 12 new community designed street banners
• Oaxacreations large puppets
• Face painting
• Photo booth

What does it take to make it BIG? Scale is part of how public art is distinguished from art made in a studio. On November 10, 2026, the City's Public Art Coordinator will lead a tour of two of the City's newest public artworks – ‘Circulation’ and ‘The Weavers’. The walking tour will last approximately 1 hour and will require 1.5 miles of walking. We will talk about "site specific" art and what it takes to get from concept to the public realm.
This tour is free to attend, but registration is required. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. The tour will be held in English.

¿Qué se necesita para lograrlo a lo GRANDE? La escala es una gran parte de cómo el arte público se distingue del arte hecho en un estudio. El 10 de noviembre de 2026, el Coordinador de Arte Público de la Ciudad dirigirá un recorrido por dos de las obras de arte público más recientes de la ciudad: ‘Circulation’ y ‘The Weavers’. El recorrido a pie durará aproximadamente 1 hora y requerirá caminar 1,5 millas. Hablaremos sobre el arte 'específico del sitio' y lo que se necesita para pasar del concepto al ámbito público.

Este recorrido es gratuito, pero se requiere registrarse. Los niños menores de 16 años deben ir acompañados por un adulto. El recorrido se llevará a cabo en inglés.

In partnership with Special Olympics Northern California, get ready for a spook-tacular evening of fun and fright as we transform our gym into a Halloween haven for "Freaky Friday"! This special dance is designed to be a frightfully good time for everyone, especially tailored for individuals with adaptive needs. Enjoy spooky tunes, costume fun, and delicious treats.

Fun news for our little explorers! The playground improvements at Solomon Park are now complete, and the playground is open for play. We have completely replaced the aging structure with brand-new, shaded equipment specifically geared for Napa’s toddlers and preschoolers in the 2-to-5 age range. Designed to encourage safe climbing, sliding, and imaginative play, it is the perfect spot for your little ones to build confidence and burn off some energy. Grab the kids and come check out the brand-new set-up! The park also includes new benches and expanded seating including a picnic table.

October 17th – Kennedy Park (Formal Gardens Picnic Area)

The Napa Parks & Recreation Department is hosting a volunteer workday each month at one of our parks or landscape areas. These family-friendly workdays are a fun and productive way to help beautify our Napa park system. Common tasks include litter pickup, spreading mulch, cleaning play area equipment, weeding, planting trees and more!

Under the Bridges Tour at Oxbow Commons
Saturday, October 10th, 10:30-12:30pm

Take a walk under Napa's bridges into the historic Napa Riverfront environment of clump grasses, historical architecture, water birds and tidal zones. Walk from the Oxbow Commons Green to the Promenade--along the restored, living Napa River. Join us on this walk-and-talk tour of the historic head of navigation of the Napa River. The purpose of this tour of the is to re-acquaint local attendees with the reborn living Napa River, as well as, to turn possible accompanying tourists into informed visitors, regarding its colorful and fascinating history.

Mini Giants (Ages 2-7 years)
Sundays - October 11th to November 1st at Kiwanis Park

Our Mini Giants Program gives children a fun, active and educational experience tailored to the abilities of their age group. Our staff helps them learn how to catch without being scared of the ball, hit using modified equipment, run the bases and field grounders. Featuring structured simple activities, individual and teambuilding challenges along with small sided competitions to develop and engage small athletes, this program is designed to get them ready to participate in our Summer Junior Giants program when they turn 5.
