Building More Than a Ramp

This week's ramp build in Kendrick is a great reminder of what a group of dedicated volunteers can accomplish together.

After a full day of preparation in the warehouse, our crew spent Wednesday constructing and installing a 24-foot ramp on a steep property, creating a safe and accessible entry for the homeowners.

Moments like these are why our volunteers show up week after week. Thank you to everyone who helped make this project possible. We're gearing up for more ramp builds next week and always welcome new volunteers ready to lend a hand. Mission Monday: A Strong Foundation Starts with Community

Every home needs a strong foundation, and so does every community. A safe, stable home gives families a foundation for better health, new opportunities, and a brighter future.

At Palouse Habitat, that foundation grows stronger when neighbors come together. Every volunteer hour, donation, and act of kindness helps build homes, hope, and lasting connections across the Palouse.

Thank you for being part of the foundation of our work. Together, we’re building a community where everyone has a place to belong!

Mission Monday!

The power of volunteering goes far beyond the hours spent on a build site. Every helping hand, whether it's swinging a hammer, painting a wall, or supporting a community event, helps create safe, affordable housing and stronger neighborhoods.

At Habitat for Humanity, volunteers are at the heart of our mission. Together, we're building more than homes. We're building hope, connection, and opportunities for local families to thrive.

If you've ever thought about getting involved, we'd love to have you join us. No experience is needed, just a willingness to make a difference. Every volunteer has something valuable to contribute, and every hour makes an impact.

This week, our Ramps & Rails crew was hard at work turning planning into progress across the Palouse and beyond.

Tuesday began at the Warehouse, where volunteers built and stained ramp components for upcoming accessibility projects, including two platforms, ramp modules, railing materials, and an aluminum ramp system ready for installation.

On Wednesday, the crew split up to tackle two projects at once. One team worked on installing balusters on a large ramp, just outside of Moscow, while another team traveled to remove an aging wooden ramp and install a new aluminum ramp with handrails to provide safer access for the homeowner. The day wrapped up with a site visit, where plans are underway for a future L-shaped ramp project.

A huge thank you to our dedicated volunteers, including our friends from the Lions Club, who continue to donate their time and talents to make homes more accessible throughout our communities. Every ramp helps local community members gain greater independence and peace of mind.

Building Access, One Neighbor at a Time!

This week began in the warehouse, where volunteers prepared materials for upcoming projects and got everything ready for a busy stretch of ramp builds. From assembling parts to staining lumber, the crew spent the day making sure future projects could get off the ground smoothly.

On Wednesday, the team headed out to help a homeowner gain safer access to their home. Even when a surprise rain shower rolled through, the volunteers kept at it, working together to complete the installation and create a safe path from the porch to the yard.

Thank you to everyone who continues to give their time and talents to this program. Every ramp helps a neighbor stay independent and connected to the home they love.

We're currently hiring a Home Repair Supervisor to help keep programs like Ramps & Rails moving forward. If you're looking for a meaningful way to serve your community and help ensure neighbors continue receiving critical accessibility improvements, we encourage you to apply today through our careers page at https://palousehabitat.org/about-palousehabitatforhumanity/careers/.

Mission Monday: Strong communities aren't just built by one person. They're built by people who choose to show up for one another!

At Palouse Habitat for Humanity, we see that every day. Volunteers give their time, donors invest in their neighbors, local businesses lend their support, and homeowners work alongside us to create brighter futures. When all of those efforts come together, the result is more than a project completed or a goal reached. It's a community that cares.

Our mission has always been about people. It's about creating opportunities, fostering stability, and ensuring that everyone has the chance to thrive. Whether someone is picking up a hammer, making a donation, or simply sharing our story, every contribution helps strengthen the fabric of our community.

That's the power of community: ordinary people coming together to accomplish extraordinary things.
