Liberty County Fire Rescue is proud to introduce Community Risk Reduction (CRR), an initiative focused on preventing emergencies before they happen through education, awareness, and community involvement.
CRR is more than responding to fires and emergencies. It is about identifying the risks that affect our community and working together to reduce those risks before they lead to injuries, loss of life, or property damage.
Through public education, fire safety training, emergency preparedness, and partnerships with residents, schools, businesses, and community organizations, we can make a lasting difference in the safety of Liberty County.
Our goal is to empower every resident with the knowledge and resources needed to recognize hazards, make informed decisions, and take steps to protect themselves, their families, and their neighbors.

🖍️⚡ Calling all creative kids—let’s CHARGE INTO FIRE SAFETY!

Liberty County Fire Rescue is kicking off our Fire Prevention Week COLORING CONTEST! Grab your crayons, colored pencils, or markers and show us your best work. Winners will receive prizes! 🎉

Choose either of our two coloring sheets and join the fun while learning that safe charging is a superpower! Charge phones and tablets on a hard surface, use the right charger, and ask a grown-up for help. 🔋

• Print one of the sheets attached to this post.
• Visit us at Commissioner Thrift’s upcoming Touch-a-Truck event and grab one there!

Today, Liberty County Fire Rescue, alongside the recruits of Class 9, had the honor of participating in the 25th Anniversary September 11th Memorial Run at Fort Stewart.

Twenty-five years have passed since September 11, 2001, but within the fire service, the promise remains the same:

We will never forget.

We remember the 343 FDNY firefighters who answered the call and never returned home. We remember the law enforcement officers, EMS personnel, military members, civilians, and every life forever changed by that day. We remember the courage, sacrifice, and extraordinary acts of service that emerged from one of our nation’s darkest hours.

For the fire service, remembrance is more than looking back. It is a responsibility passed from one generation of firefighters to the next.

That made today especially meaningful as the recruits of LCFR Class 9 ran alongside members of the fire service who came before them. As they begin their own journey, they are becoming part of a tradition built on service before self, courage in the face of danger, and an unwavering commitment to answer when others need us most.

The uniforms may change. The apparatus may change. The generations will change.

But the calling remains.

Today we ran for those who can no longer run beside us. We carried their memory forward. And we renewed a promise the fire service has kept for 25 years:

Never forgotten. Always honored.

📚🚒 Liberty County Fire Rescue was honored to be part of the Liberty County High School Back-to-School Rally! 🎉

A huge thank you to Ms. Levonia LeCounte and Project Reach G.A.N.G. Inc. for hosting such an incredible event and bringing our community together to celebrate the start of a new school year.

We would also like to extend a huge thank you to Blake and his team at Tire Rack for supporting our donation back to the community and for being part of the distribution of backpacks and supplies. Your generosity and partnership made a meaningful impact!

Our crew had a fantastic time meeting students, families, and staff while helping get everyone excited for another year of learning, growth, and success. We love every opportunity to connect with our community and encourage our young people as they head back into the classroom.

To all of the students, teachers, and school staff—we wish you a safe, successful, and rewarding school year. Study hard, be kind, and make this your best year yet!
