The City of Hinesville takes the initiative to periodically analyze impediments to fair housing choice and develops a plan of action to address areas of concern. We observe National Fair Housing Month each April and educate the public throughout the year of their fair housing rights via a variety of events and activit

ies. The Fair Housing Act prohibits discrimination in housing and housing related activities due to a person's race, color, national origin, religion, s*x, familial status, or disability/handicap. This law ensures that citizens may compete for housing on a fair and equitable basis. The more you know about fair housing, the better you can protect yourself. If you feel that your fair housing rights have been violated, you may file a complaint with one of the following agencies. A time limit applies and complaints must be filed within one year of an alleged violation; however, it should be filed as soon as possible. Vision & Associates
