Gestalt Community Schools (GCS) builds better communities through education.

Gestalt Community Schools is a network of K-12 public charter schools in Memphis, TN. Gestalt provides strong academic outcomes for students and leverages community assets to empower scholars to be college-ready, career-ready, and community-ready. We partner with scholars, families, staff, and community members to help revitalize neighborhoods. Instead of debating whether education impacts the community or vice versa, Gestalt believes that the most effective method to support student achievement is an integration of education and community (a true "gestalt").

Bus Driver Appreciation Week was last week, and we celebrated our amazing bus drivers at our Southeast and Hickory Hill campuses. Ms. Sherrie, Ms. Toya, Mr. Brian and Mr. Marcus ensure our scholars arrive at our campuses on time and safely every single day. 🚌

Last week, we brought our Village together for our State of the Union meeting. As we near the halfway point of our first semester, we took time to celebrate team milestones, reflect on our progress and discuss how we can continue to best serve our scholars throughout the school year. And, of course, we had a little fun along the way!

We're grateful for the dedication and passion our team brings to our scholars and our Village each day, and we look forward to ending this semester on a high note!

Fall break is almost here, and at Gestalt, it starts a little early. 💚

Our team will be released early this Wednesday before break, giving staff extra time to rest, recharge or simply spend the afternoon however they choose. It’s one of the ways we give back to the people who show up for our scholars every day.

Gestalt is proud to be part of the Tennessee Pathways Incubator through SCORE's Future Forward Innovation Grant! Our Village was awarded $75,000 to help develop a new healthcare pathway for high school scholars.

Led by Ms. Jay Randolph, Director of School to Work Programming & Tennessee Pathways Incubator Fellow, the initiative will introduce CNA certification training in Spring 2027, followed by a Practical Nursing pathway in Fall 2027 for scholars interested in nursing and healthcare careers.

Healthcare will become our seventh CTE-focused pathway, joining:
📝 Business & Entrepreneurship
✏️ Teaching as a Profession
🔧 Mechatronics
🖥️ Coding
🚗 Auto Repair
🔨 Residential & Commercial Construction

We’re grateful for our healthcare pathway partners, Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, TCAT Memphis and the Memphis Medical District Collaborative, for helping us build new opportunities for our scholars!
