I am often asked how I became passionate about servicing the homeless community. In this world of “What Would Jesus Do” my awakening began approximately 26 years ago. Late one evening, after leaving bible study with my daughter who was approximately 11 years old at the time, we stopped at a fast food restaurant on our way home. Upon entering the restaurant, there was a unclean gentleman standing n
ear front of the door. I was honestly annoyed because he was blocking the door in an effort to beg me for money. As I pulled the door open he began to ask. I didn’t allow him to hardly say anything before shouting “I don’t have any money.” I proceeded to take about 2 steps into the restaurant before a deep conviction fell upon me. I immediately turned around to tell him that I would buy him some food, and like a ghost he was gone. As my daughter and I walked around the parking area looking for the gentleman we were amazed that he vanished before our eyes. I proceeded to purchase food for him anyway in hopes that I would find him as I was driving down the street. I circled the block a few times never to see him again. It was then that I realized he was an angel. Acts 27:23 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, (KJV). Ever since then, this has been my life’s mission. This page is designed for everyone to share stories, videos, and comments on giving and serving. Perhaps you may know someone who could use our assistance. Maybe you have viable information on community services and organizations that we can share with people when we serve them on the streets. Maybe you want to post a prayer or share inspirational stories. We welcome you to post your thoughts on this page. We realize that everyone may not be as inspired as we are to serve in this way, and that’s okay. We all have a calling in life. But if you are so inclined to help us, we greatly appreciate it.
