For immediate release:

On August 30, 2026, at approximately 10:00 a.m., officers from the Long Beach Township Police Department responded to a residence in the Loveladies section of Long Beach Township for a report of a stolen Range Rover. The Long Beach Township Detective Bureau and Ocean County Sherriff’s Department Crime Scene Investigations Unit also responded.

Following an extensive investigation, Detectives determined that an 18-year-old male from Newark conspired with a juvenile to commit the theft. It was determined that during the early morning hours of August 30, the adult entered the residence and took the keys, along with other items.

On September 25, 2026, probable cause was found to charge both individuals with theft of a motor vehicle and conspiracy to commit theft of a motor vehicle. Additionally, probable cause was found to charge the adult with participating in an auto theft traffic network, burglary and theft. The adult was placed in custody, processed and lodged in Ocean County Jail pending a future court date.

The Long Beach Township Police Department commends the professional actions of all of the officers and detectives whose efforts that led to these apprehensions. We also thank the agencies that assisted throughout this investigation.

All charges are merely accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
