Well folks it's the time of increasing traffic, traffic lights and pedestrians again. Please remeber to keep alert, look up, and above all, be considerate of others as we enter the summer season.

Folks please see the Borough's post about the boat ramp. We're almost there.

It’s that time of year to get the boats back in the water. The Borough installed new equipment this week, and the updated launch process will go into effect in mid-June. Until then, boats may be launched without the permit.

Just in case you're hearing doom and gloom through tomorrow, Here's our forecast from National Weather.

Tornado watch thru 7 PM tonight

This afternoon - A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 3pm. Some of the storms could be severe. High near 53. Windy, with a south wind around 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Post Blizzard Clean-up

Thank you everyone for not driving during this event and for the kindness and caring you've shown toward your neighbors. Just a few reminders as the snow still needs shoveling and clean-up is underway.

POWER LINES: No matter how unlively they look they could bite you just the same. Here's some tips:

Immediate Safety Actions: Keep Distance: Stay at least 30–35 feet away from downed lines, as electricity can travel through the ground. Report Immediately: Call 911 or 1-800-833-7476 to report the danger. We would prefer both so we can provide a proper barrier until ACE gets there.

Do Not Touch: Never touch a person or object (like a fence or tree branch) that is in contact with a downed wire.

Warn Others: Keep children and pets away from the area.

SNOW SHOVELING AND SNOW BLOWING: When shoveling, take it slow, keep up with the snow fall, wear layers, push instead of lifting, and stay hydrated. Here are some snow clearing tips from AAOS OrthoInfo:

Folks, until next time, please take care, and as always, we're here if you need us.

WEATHER FOR THE WEEKEND (as of 5a today)
Well, it’s Friday which means another weather event is on its way.

Storm, Extreme Cold and High Wind Warnings are currently posted for our area.

Here’s the breakdown:

Snow: Less than an inch, which could start as early as 7pm tonight, but more likely between midnight and 6am. With a brief return of snow early Saturday morning.
Wind: It’s gonna blow again, with very low windchills. Max anticipated wind gusts around 50mph, and with very low wind chills -15F, Saturday lasting through the evening.
Standing Temp: Highest 35F - Lowest 6F over the weekend.

Where’s the good News? Looks like a warming trend over the next two weeks, but as with anything weather, you could almost flip a coin. Speaking as a true non-meteorologist that is.

So, try to stay warm, watch out for that lingering ice, and as always, we’re here if you need us.

Have a peaceful weekend.

Like the sign says, Barnegat Avenue between N 6th and N 7th, South Bound is closed for now as crews clean up from some pipe work.

Ocean County Road Department will be posting appropriate temporary traffic control shortly. So for now, Central Ave is your uninterrupted run to 72 or Ship Bottom.

This should last a few days as the fill settles and a new road surface is applied.

Thank you for your patience folks. Have a great and hopefully, warm evening.
