Today, the Borough of Ship Bottom honors and remembers the 2,977 innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001.
We remember the courage and selflessness of the first responders who answered the call, as well as the families, friends, and loved ones who continue to carry their memory.
Twenty-five years later, Patriot Day remains a powerful reminder of the tragedy that unfolded at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and aboard Flight 93—and of the extraordinary courage, compassion, and resilience that followed.
Today, we pause to reflect, to honor, and to remember. We share in the promise to NEVER FORGET. God Bless America. 🇺🇸 🕊️

Ship Bottom’s last Summer Concert is tonight, Thursday, September 3rd at 6:30! Come and enjoy the Triple Rail Turn a modern country band known for their high energy performances! Bring a beach chair!
Location: Waterfront Park, 10th Street and Shore Avenue (Bayfront).
Hosted by: Ship Bottom Department of Parks and Recreation Council President and Chairman Ed English, Councilman Joe Valyo, Councilwoman Mary Basile and Events Coordinator and Municipal Clerk, Kristy Correnti.

This event is supported in part by grants from the Ocean County Cultural and Heritage Commission and the Ocean County Board of County Commissioners.

Due to schools beginning before Labor Day and a shortage of lifeguards, the following beaches will be temporarily closed today.

Friday, September 4
11th Street, 23rd Street, will not have lifeguards.
The Bay Beach will be guarded from 1:30 PM–6:00 PM.

As a reminder, 3rd Street Beach (3rd–5th Streets) and 30th Street Beach (27th–31st Streets) will remain closed for the remainder of the season.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we work to provide lifeguard coverage where possible.

If You See Something, Say Something

The fence at the Ship Bottom Bay Beach has been cut and damaged several times this summer. This damage is considered vandalism of Borough property, and the Ship Bottom Police Department has been notified.
We encourage all Ship Bottom residents and visitors to remain alert and report any suspicious activity or information regarding damage to Borough Property.
