🚨🚨🚨🚨Sheriff P.D. Clemens, would like to commend and thank all of the fine citizens of Logan County, who participated in the Spring Session of the D.E.A. Drug Take Back Program and to those Citizens who utilize the mandated Drug Take Back Boxes, located at The Logan County Sheriffs Department, Man City Hall, and The Chapmanville Police Department…through all the coordination and participation from the Diligent and Conscious Citizens of Logan County, a large amount of 241 pounds of unused medications, where kept off the streets, away from our young children, adults, and out of our drinking water in our Wonderful County…241 lbs of unused medications will be disposed of properly and safely…Once Again all the citizens who participated…you are truly making a difference and Sheriff P.D. On Saturday, April 25, 2026, members of the Logan County Sheriff’s Department will be located at Kroger along Holden Road from the hours of 10AM to 2PM for National Drug Take Back.

Members of the Logan County Sheriff’s Department will also be located at Walgreens along Huff Creek Highway in Man on the same date and during the same hours for National Drug Take Back.

Please be sure to visit the United States Drug Enforcement Administrations webpage for further details regarding medication and proper packaging.

PRESS RELEASE

On Wednesday, April 8, 2026, Logan County Sheriff Deputies responded to an animal cruelty complaint in the Amherstale area. Upon arrival, it was learned that a neighbor had used a club-like weapon and hit a dog with it several times, causing life threatening injuries.
An investigation was initiated, and it was learned that several nuisance complaints had been reported to the Logan County Humane Officer regarding this particular animal. It was relayed that the dog had attacked other animals in the neighborhood throughout the day. Many neighbors were interviewed and statements have been conflicting as to the dog's level of aggressiveness.
Deputies learned that the dog in question had succumbed to its injuries. Investigating officers have conferred with the office of the Logan County Prosecutor and criminal charges are forthcoming in this incident….

This is a reminder to the public that all 2025 county personal and real estate taxes will become delinquent on April 1, 2026. On or after April 1, there will be interest and delinquent fees incurred. To avoid newspaper publication fees, all county 2025 taxes must be paid by April 30, 2026.

We have received reports of an individual posing as a Logan County Deputy, using the name “Deputy Howard” and the phone number 304-994-8681, attempting to scam citizens by demanding payment.

⚠️ This person is NOT a Deputy with our department.
⚠️ Do not send money or provide personal information.

If you receive a call like this:
• Hang up immediately
• Do not engage with the caller
• Report the incident to the Logan County Sheriff’s Department
