Logan Area Public Library We serve the Logan Community at large—providing books, fax, printing, notary services, and more! The Logan Area Public Library opened its doors in 1997.

We are centrally located within the same building as the Logan Middle School on Hatfield Island in the City of Logan. We provide many services to our community, as well as many FREE programs and events. The Library gets new books in every Wednesday. We have a vast collection of books in every genre waiting to be checked out, as well as books on cd and movies. Also, we have a huge digital collectio

n of e-books, audio books, magazines, etc.. The library has several desktop computers and chrome books available for patrons to use in the Library. The cost of print-outs is 25 cents per page. Photocopies are also 25 cents per page. We also fax documents at a rate of $1.00 per page, plus 25 cents for each additional page. Resumes, job applications, military forms and tax forms are FREE. Up to 5 pages for school work is also FREE. We also have a notary public at the Library. Notary services are FREE, however, please note that you must present photo identification. A big thank you to Logan County Schools and Mark Keyser for the repainting of our crosswalk at the library following the recent paving! We truly appreciate you making the safety of our library patrons, students, and teachers a priority and for helping make the library a welcoming and safe place for everyone!

We had also been told by a representative from the State Road that they would take care of the crosswalk. We are so grateful to know that we have community partners who are looking out for us, listening to our concerns, and taking action!

ALA is heartbroken at the passing of country music legend, cultural icon, and champion of literacy Dolly Parton.

Dolly’s award-winning Imagination Library initiative, inspired by her father’s inability to read or write, has put hundreds of millions of free books into the hands of children across America and was considered by her to be one of her greatest achievements.

“We’re giving books to kids who wouldn’t have a chance to get them otherwise,” she told American Libraries in a 2018 interview. “A lot of people think this is just for poor children—it’s for all children. It’s important to get books into the hands of any child that we can.”

ALA was proud to confer Dolly with an honorary lifetime membership, the Association’s highest honor, in 2023 for her lasting impact on librarianship, libraries, and the communities they serve.

Dolly was also part of ALA’s Celebrity READ campaign, in which she holds a copy of 'The Little Engine That Could.'

“I’ve always related to that book because I’m the little engine that did!” she said.
