Starting Wednesday, September 3rd, book sale prices are by bag 👜, not by item! Buy a Friends of Ledyard Library tote bag for $10 and fill the whole thing with as many books as you can carry. Or, bring your own FOLL tote and fill it for $5! Either way, a spectacular deal on secondhand books, and a great way to support your local library.

What a milestone! Siobhan completed the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten challenge just days before starting school, and has learned so many things--the importance of reading, the value of libraries, and the knowledge that she is building skills that will follow her far beyond kindergarten.

If you haven't gotten a chance to stop by the Ledyard Public Library annual book sale, now is your chance! All items are half-priced, so stop by and get some books before they're gone!

Proceeds from Friends of Ledyard Library book sale goes directly to support library programs, museum passes, Hoopla access, and much more! This is a great way to build up your own collection and to help support your local community library.

🌱🌿 Congratulations, Summer Adventure Program Winners! 🌱🌿

Our theme for the 2026 Youth Summer Adventure Program was "Plant a Seed, Read!" and these brave adventurers sure did! These lucky winners were drawn from a raffle, and they earned tickets all summer by reading books, creating masterpieces, and exploring new things.

All of our winners have been called or emailed, so make sure to check your spam filters and voicemail boxes in case you're one of them! And if you didn't win this year--don't worry, there's always another chance next summer. We'll have a new theme, new challenges, and new prizes, but the same great books.

"If I'm remembered 100 years from now, I hope it will be not for looks, but for books."

Thank you, Dolly Parton, for inspiring generations of young readers. Her legacy of literacy and community lives on through her Imagination Library, a program that works with libraries and other partners to mail books to children from birth to age five. With news of her passing, we want to highlight her favorite books and hopefully find her in the pages.

Are you a member of the Friends of Ledyard Library? If you are, you can access the FOLL Annual Book Sale one day early!

On Wednesday, August 26th, FOLL members will get free early access to the Ledyard Library book sale. This is a great opportunity to get first dibs on your favorite books, CDs, movies, and more!

Not a member? Don't worry--you can still access the book sale early for a $10 membership fee!

PLEASE NOTE: This is only available at the Bill Ledyard Library location!
