Big congratulations to our friend Charlie Dooley, age 6, who was the big winner of a “Ride to School with Ledyard Police” in the recent GFS/JWL PTO raffle!

Charlie is in kindergarten at Gallup Hill School, and she chose to share her prize with her brother Jaxon, age 10. This morning, they got a police es**rt to school, compliments of SGT Michael McKinney and all of us at LPD.

Big congratulations to Officer Taylor Krajewski, who was among the first responders who recently received a Unit Citation from Waterford Police Department for their response to a call at a Waterford business on March 16, 2026, where several workers were trapped under large slabs of stone that shifted during transport. The most seriously injured patient was suffering from asphyxiation due to the weight upon him, and once extricated, CPR was initiated. Ultimately, all patients survived and recovered.

Officer Krajewski was commended for her quick and decisive action, her calm professionalism under stress, and her compassion while dealing with the injured and their relatives.

Special thanks to Chief Ferland for recognizing the heroic efforts of those involved.

Great job, Taylor! 👏🚔🇺🇸
