What are the Canada geese eating??? Can you believe they are eating the aquatic invasive w**d, variable-leaf watermilfoil? In just the past two years, we have seen them graze on it, but they haven't made a dent! We can help control the spread by pulling it off your props or paddles when you pull in; take it back to shore with you to let it dry out - it stops it from being a new colony of w**d. Please help stop the spread within the lakes. And, Clean, Drain, Dry -all watercraft, fishing gear - all the time, every time! Thank you for helping decrease the spread in the Lantern Hill Valley Lakes - Long Pond, Bush Pond, and Lantern Hill Pond 😃

Check out this app! It's incredibly cool and a useful tool for the curious about where does my lake, river or stream water come from and go? Look how complex watershed science is! Thanks CUSH for sharing this!

Do you treasure CT’s wonderfully diverse lakes and rivers? Join us TONIGHT FROM 7-8:30 pm to learn more about the ecological threat all of CT’s freshwater are facing. It is known as Northern hydrilla, aka CT River Hydrilla for where it was discovered in the late teens. This is a new species of hydrilla to the US and it LOVES Connecticut’s waters from the lakes and rivers almost to the Long Island Sound. We can take actions to mitigate its impact but this calls for developing a multi-targeted rapid response plan. Learn from East Twin Lakes experiences since 2023 attempting to regain control over hydrilla. Register below!
