📢 Upcoming Road Construction and Bridge Replacement Affecting Ledyard Residents

The Town of Ledyard is currently scheduling two major road projects that will impact local traffic. First, resurfacing of Bittersweet Drive and Cornell Court is set to begin on June 11th. This project involves milling followed by paving and will take place daily from approximately 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Residents and motorists are advised that minor delays may occur in the work zones during this time.

Additionally, the Lantern Hill Road Bridge at the Ledyard-Stonington line is currently being replaced. As a result, Lantern Hill Road will be closed to through traffic until close to the end of June 2026. During this period, residents and motorists are requested to use alternate routes.

The Town of Ledyard is accepting dog registrations from June 1 through June 30. You may register your dog by mail, at the town drop box, via the online portal, or in person at the Town Clerk’s office. A current certificate of rabies vaccination with an original veterinarian signature is required—rabies tags are not acceptable. If your dog is neutered or spayed, that certificate must also be presented. Fees are $8.00 for altered dogs and $19.00 for unaltered dogs. A $1.00 per month late fee will be assessed if registration is not completed on time, as required by statute.

The Ledyard Water Pollution Control Authority will conduct a Hybrid Public Hearing on May 26, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at the Council Chambers, Annex Building, 741 Colonel Ledyard Highway, Ledyard, Connecticut to receive comments, both oral and written, regarding a proposed water rate structure change July 1, 2026.
Customers will be charged a Base Rate and a Water Usage Rate as follows:

- Residential Monthly Base Rate: $4.00 per 1/8 inch of water meter diameter
- Residential Water Usage Rate: all water charged at 1.15 cents per gallon
- Commercial Monthly Base Rate for meters up to 1 inch diameter: $120.00
- Commercial Monthly Base Rate for meters more than one inch diameter: $200.00
- Commercial Water Usage Rate: all water charged at 1.40 cents per gallon

In accordance with CGS-7-239 the Schedule of Proposed Water Rate Increase is published in the Town Clerk’s Office at 741 Colonel Ledyard Highway and on the Town’s Website at www.ledyardct.org. Interested persons may submit written communications to: [email protected]. Please join the meeting in person at the Ledyard Town Hall Annex or from your computer, tablet, or smartphone.
