Burn Ban in effect for Tulsa County until at least September 8th👇👇👇

Burn Ban in effect for Tulsa County 🚫🔥

Effective Sept. 3, 2026, the Tulsa County Board of County Commissioners has declared a burn ban in Tulsa County.

While the burn ban is in effect, no outdoor burning or open flames are permitted. This ban will remain in effect until Tuesday, Sept. 8.

Please help protect our community and reduce the risk of wildfires by following the burn ban and avoiding all outdoor burning and open flames.

Oklahoma weather can change rapidly, please follow us for updates.

This is a always a great opportunity for expecting parents to have their car seat properly installed before transporting their newborn(s) in a vehicle.

We also encourage anyone who transports children in their vehicle to stop by and make sure their car seat is safe and secure by one of our trained professionals!

Give us a call at our non-emergency line: 918-299-6311 and set up a time to drop by one of the Jenks Fire Stations or the Jenks Police Department to have your car seat professionally installed or checked by our experts!

Emergency Notification – Glenpool Pipeline Fire

At approximately 8:33 a.m., Glenpool emergency personnel responded to the Explorer Pipeline facility at 1312 W. 126th Street following reports of an explosion.

Two tanks have exploded, and fire crews remain on scene working to contain the fire and prevent further spread. No injuries have been reported at this time.

As a precaution, surrounding businesses and residences have been evacuated. The public is urged to avoid the area and allow emergency personnel to safely operate.

Traffic Advisory: Routes around 121st Street and Elwood Avenue remain open and may be used as detours around the affected area.

At this time, no Jenks residents are within the evacuation area or are threatened by the incident. If evacuation of Jenks residents becomes necessary, affected residents will be notified through the appropriate channels, including the emergency alert system, social media, the City website, and in-person notification to those directly affected.

This remains an active and ongoing incident. We will continue monitoring the situation and provide updates if conditions change or additional information becomes available.

Several members of Jenks Fire & Rescue are attending this years International Association for Fire Chiefs -
Chief Ostrum with Fire Dog Ember, Assistant Chief Zickefoose, Fire Marshal O’Brien, Captain Watkins (all taking year one of Executive Fire Officer) Captain Osgood and Captain Martinez (first year of Chief Fire Officer)  Lieutenant Lambdin and Driver Schultze (first year of Company Officer).

Each of these three levels are a three year commitment and are part of our succession planning for the Fire Department.

Another exciting component this year is Jenks Fire & Rescue was chosen to be featured on IAFC TV which plays throughout the conference and also is available on their channel for other departments (and the public to watch). Jenks Fire & Rescue was chosen because of the innovative and outside of the box approach they have to serving our community while also expanding and building the future leaders within the department.
