Our young adults have been working hard to find jobs, and it hasn’t been easy. Despite the barriers they face, they went through job interview after job interview without an offer, and they stayed the course until they were employed.

Once they started working, we wanted to help them keep those jobs. So we reached out to our supporters and asked for lunch boxes, and the response was amazing. Thank you to everyone who gave!

Our goal is to intentionally remove barriers so our young adults can stay employed, and that includes the everyday ones. No one wants to work day after day on an empty stomach.

Right now, we have a major need for boxer briefs in all sizes.

Having fresh underwear helps our young people feel clean, comfortable, and ready to take on the day, whether that’s a job interview, a shift at work, or a class.

If you’d like to help, you can purchase boxer briefs from our Amazon Wish List and have them shipped directly to us:

Thank you to our supporters for helping us meet these everyday needs, so our young people can focus on what’s ahead.

Gloves and hats are the most-needed items on our list right now! 🧤

On November 6th, we’re hosting a Thanksgiving Dinner and Winter Gear Giveaway for our youth and young adults, and our goal is for everyone to head out with what they need to stay warm this winter. Once again, enVista Corp and their employees have generously provided most of the coats, and we’re so grateful for them. What we still need are weatherproof gloves (screen-friendly, so phones still work while they’re wearing them), warm hats, and scarves, in both men’s and women’s sizes.

Here’s how you can help:

Order from our Amazon wishlist and your items will ship straight to us: https://a.co/0abk7g8f
Or drop donations off Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays before 4PM.

Thank you for helping our young people stay warm this winter.

Leslie said Outreach helped give her spark back. That's a pretty big statement, and honestly, we think Leslie, like so many young people we work with, is selling herself short.

Outreach's whole goal is to be a support system, not the main character. We can point someone toward a coach, a resource, a program that fits what they need. But showing up to that appointment, making the calls, filling out the paperwork, and choosing every single day to keep going is entirely on them.

We're glad to be there for the youth we serve, and we mean that. But the grit and the determination it takes to actually change a life only ever come from the person living it. (Write that down.)

So when Leslie says we helped give her spark back, what we hear is: Leslie found her spark. She just let us stand next to her while she did it.

Getting housed is a huge step for our youth, but stocking a kitchen for the first time is a whole other challenge.

Things like groceries, getting supplies, and learning to maintain a budget are often the next steps. This is why many youth continue coming back to our Program Center even after moving into their first apartment.

Not only do we continue to provide hot meals, but we also send young people home with meal kits, so they have food in their own kitchen on the days they can't make it in or when we're not open.

On Fridays, lunch is usually homemade. (Tacos are always a crowd favorite!) This is a chance for youth to sit down together, catch up, and enjoy a good meal with people they know.

Getting permanent housing is a big win. Outreach works to make sure there's food on the table and a community that still surrounds youth even after they've moved in.

THROWBACK: Friday Fish Fry on the patio! 🐟

When the weather cooperates, we love taking advantage of the outdoor patio at our Program Center. Firing up the grill and eating outside turns a regular lunch into something that feels a little more like a cookout with friends.

Thanks Ceddrick for both the Cajun tilapia option and the regular... for those folks who can't handle the spice. 😉

Think about it: How far would you get in life without your Social Security card?

Thankfully, Armani now has his Social Security card in hand and has already gotten to work putting it to good use.

For most of us, our Social Security card and birth certificate are stored somewhere safe. Probably in a file cabinet where we don't have to think twice about it. We don't realize how much depends on that little piece of paper until we actually need it, for a job application, a lease, or a bank account.

For a lot of the young people we work with, documents like these got lost somewhere, or were never handed down to them in the first place.

That's where our Resource Services team comes in. Alongside help with job readiness, transportation, and legal guidance, staff work directly with young people to track down and replace the documents most of us take for granted.

Thank you to LaTanya, Ceddrick, Brettany, and Kevin for helping lead our annual volunteer training this week!

More than 20 volunteers took part in our “Just Get a Job” simulation, which walks them through the real obstacles young people face while trying to find work and get stable. It went really well, and we’re grateful for everyone who showed up ready to learn.

It’s been one month since Transform 2026: 30 Years of Impact, and we’re still smiling about that night! Here are a few of our favorite moments from the evening.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. Many of you made your way through the Transform Passport, stopping at the Program Center, ARCH, Housing, Coaching, and Mental Health stations to see the full range of what Outreach does every day. It meant so much to have our supporters, staff, youth, and alumni all in one room, celebrating thirty years of showing up for young people.

The night wasn’t only about looking back, though. We also got to share a first look at the next chapter of our mission, including where our housing work is headed. We can’t wait to keep you updated as that vision takes shape.

Thank you to our sponsors, volunteers, and every guest who helped make this year’s Transform possible.
