The 107th National Convention opens Friday, August 28 in Louisville and runs through September 3. Schedules and the General Session agenda are posted in the convention app, so you can follow the whole week from home.

Plus Boat Parade registration closing Wednesday August 26, one week left to claim one of the 20 Texian Navy Day seats, and Texas Legion College September 18 to 20.

The annual Consolidated Post Report shows American Legion members gave over 7 million volunteer hours to their communities. Almost halfway. Post 490 is at 526 members renewed, transferred, or paid up for life - 49.62% of our 1,060 goal, and up 77 since July 31.

Two weeks left to claim a Texian Navy Day seat. RSVP closes September 1.

The 20th American Legion Legacy Run departs Lincoln, Nebraska on August 23 and covers roughly 1,000 miles through Iowa, Missouri, Illinois and Indiana, finishing August 27 at the General George Patton Museum of Leadership at Fort Knox, Kentucky. You do not have to be on a motorcycle to support it .....

Back to School this Saturday, August 8, 10 AM to 1 PM at 101 S. Richey St in Pasadena. Free backpacks, free haircuts, school supplies and community resources, hosted by the Office of Judge Dolores Lozano. Please share it with your families and friends.

The Cannoneers of the First Sabine River Fleet have reserved 20 seats for Post 490, open to Legionnaires, Auxiliary, Sons of The American Legion, Riders and your families. Twenty seats will not go far across a Post our size, so if you want one, say so. RSVP by September 1 to Commander Rene Sanchez, or call or text 832-933-7395.

2027 Early Bird renewals are at 449 members, 42% of our 1,060 goal, and Post 490 is running ahead of both the 22nd District and the Department of Texas.
