Happy Halloween! 🎃 As kids head out trick-or-treating tonight, please slow down, stay alert, and watch for children crossing the street. Let's keep our little ghosts and goblins safe!

This National Pedestrian Safety Month, we’re delivering progress across Precinct 4. We’ve built more than 80 miles of new sidewalks, and this year alone, we upgraded nearly 120 school crosswalks so students can get to class safely.

Alongside our other infrastructure investments, these improvements protect our kids and make our streets safer for everyone. From the front door to the school door, my team and I are making every step safer.

The late state Rep. Ken Yarbrough served his country in the Navy, spent years organizing alongside his fellow workers, and carried their fight to the Texas House for six terms. He never stopped standing up for workers' rights, and he never stopped believing working families deserved a better future.

At Commissioners Court, I presented a resolution honoring his life and legacy. His fight lives on in every worker who stands a little taller because of him.

Big improvements are on the way for neighborhoods across Precinct 4!

Alongside our partners, we announced $80.2 million in new Places 4 People investments across Precinct 4. These 10 projects will improve roads and drainage, connect more families to parks and green spaces and make crossings near schools safer.

From the walk to school to the trip to the park, we’re delivering the infrastructure our residents deserve.

We've officially broken ground on a major project to improve pedestrian safety and connectivity in Spring Branch.

The 1.7-mile extension of the Spring Branch Trail will add seven new undercrossings at major intersections and provide safer connections to nearby schools, trails, and public transit.

This partnership with the City of Houston and Houston Parks Board will build a safer, stronger Harris County.
