๐ŸšจHARRIS COUNTY HEADED TOWARD HIGHEST TAX RATE IN HISTORY

๐Ÿ’ฐ ICYMI: Commissioner Ramsey proposed a flat tax rate and budget that cuts waste and focuses taxpayer dollars on the basics that government is legally responsible for: law enforcement, the courts, roads, flood control, and other essential services.

โŒ Unfortunately, his proposal was denied, and now Harris County is headed toward the highest tax rate in county history. ๐Ÿ“ˆ

Today, Commissioner Ramsey attended the FBI Houston Citizens Academy Alumni Association's Flags of Gratitude, Honor, and Remembrance Ceremony at the Fallen Warriors Memorial.

This ceremony brought our community together to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, honor the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice to save others, and recognize those who continue their service to this day. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

๐Ÿ“ˆ Harris County is on track to pass the highest tax rate in county history.

Yesterday, Commissioners Court voted to move forward with a tax rate that increases Harris County's proposed spending by 12% - that's roughly $326 million more than last year.
Commissioner Ramsey opposed the tax rate and offered an alternative to keep Harris Countyโ€™s total tax rate flat. That was denied.

Be sure to tune in on September 17th for the final vote and implementation of the tax rates here: https://agenda.harriscountytx.gov/

We're working alongside our partners, Faulkey Gully Municipal Utility District and Malcomson Road Utility District, to bring more improvements to Faulkey Gully! ๐Ÿ—๏ธ

This week, Commissioner Ramsey joined community members for a tour of the Faulkey Gully Hike and Bike Trail construction. Once complete, this project will include a 1.5 mile hike and bike trail ๐Ÿšด and pedestrian bridge, ๐ŸŒ‰ providing nearby neighborhoods with more connectivity and opportunities for outdoor recreation. ๐ŸŒณWe're proud to work on this project because as Michelle Steadman with Faulkey Gully MUD said, "This is really what MUD and county partners are all about!"
