Harris County Precinct 2 was proud to partner with the Hispanic Health Coalition for the 8th Latino Health Summit at Rice University!

The summit brought together community members, healthcare professionals, and advocates to explore ways to improve healthcare access for Latino communities.

The event also highlighted local initiatives making a difference for families across greater Houston.

Commissioner Adrian Garcia joined the Harris County Mayors and Councils Association to discuss the growth, priorities, and future of Precinct 2 and the importance of regional collaboration.

Precinct 2 is committed to working with local leaders to advocate for stronger infrastructure, forward-thinking investments, and a better future for our communities.

Delivering safer neighborhoods means clearing the places that make families feel unsafe. Through a $500,000 partnership with Harris County Public Health, Commissioner Garcia delivered on cleaning up 23 dangerous properties and addressing 93 nuisance violations across Precinct 2, from Aldine to Baytown to South Belt.

That includes a former hotel in Channelview that had become a hazard for the whole neighborhood before it was demolished and cleared.
