Our Spanish students took their learning beyond the classroom with an exciting field trip to the Detroit Institute of Arts! 🎨🏛️

Throughout the visit, students explored connections between art, culture, language, and identity. Their experience included discovering Día de los Mu***os ofrendas, observing how art reflects cultural traditions and personal stories, and exploring Diego Rivera’s iconic Detroit Industry Murals.

It was a wonderful opportunity for students to experience firsthand many of the cultural connections they’ve been learning about in Spanish class—and to make some new discoveries along the way!

🎉🐻 Oh, bother! Winnie the Pooh is turning 100! 🍯🎂

Mrs. Melero’s first-grade students celebrated 100 years of Winnie the Pooh with a very special birthday surprise! 💛 The students created heartfelt birthday cards for Pooh, which were sent to the New York City Library to be displayed. 📬✨

They also explored the fascinating true story of Winnie, the real-life bear cub who inspired the beloved character, and discovered how this timeless classic came to be.

It was a rumbly in the tumbly kind of day filled with creativity, curiosity, and a whole lot of Pooh-inspired fun! 🐝📚 Here’s to 100 years of friendship, imagination, and adventures in the Hundred Acre Wood! 🌳💛
