Christmas came early for the Holly Police Department, Shop with a Cop program.

All credit and thanks to Shawn (Santa) Grugal and Mrs. Clause, Buddy the Elf, so many Holly businesses and donors and Brian and his crew at Holly Lanes for raising $1,000.00 today!

Thank you all who came out on a rainy day to have some fun and raise money for a Holly Christmas morning for many.

This event ensures 7 more children will be selected to Shop with a Holly cop for their Christmas joy!

Downtown Dismount Reminder -

The updated Dismount signs at the entrances to our Downtown Business District may be new, but the ordinance is not.

Village Ordinance Title 7, Chapter 71 prohibits riding bicycles, skateboards, coasters, scooters, rollerblades, and other similar wheeled devices on sidewalks and streets within the Downtown Business District and Battle Alley. Mobility devises used by people with disabilities are exempt.

When entering Downtown, please dismount and walk your bicycle or other device through the designated area.

The Downtown Business District includes Saginaw Street from Maple Street to the railroad tracks, including Battle Alley.

Downtown Holly is a busy and active place, with pedestrians, businesses, visitors, events, and motor vehicle traffic all sharing a relatively small area. We want our Downtown sidewalks and streets to remain vibrant, welcoming, safe, and enjoyable for everyone, with pedestrian safety and consideration for others at the forefront.

Please help us spread the word and remind family members, friends, and young riders of the Downtown dismount requirement.

You will also see an increased Holly Police Department foot-patrol presence Downtown to help educate, remind, and encourage compliance. When necessary, officers will take appropriate enforcement action.

Our goal is simple: a busy, welcoming Downtown where everyone can safely enjoy our public spaces and shops.

This big boy lost his human in the area of Sherman at Center St. at around 7 pm tonight. He is currently sleeping off a treat intox at the PD.

Broad Street Pedestrian Crossing Light Failure -

Effective August 12, 2026 at 1:00 pm.

The activation buttons on the Broad Street Pedestrian Crosswalk lights are defective. The DPW is aware and has been forced to cut power to prevent them from operating in a constant on mode. A service company has been contacted with maintenance pending.

Please cross using caution as you would any non-flashing crosswalk. We will update this post when repairs are completed!

** Water Boil Restrictions Lifted effective 8-4-2026 at 9 am **

*** UPDATE Monday, August 3, 2026 at 12:00 pm ***- The first water sample test for bacteria was clear, the second sample has been taken with the results known and updated tomorrow morning, on August 4, 2026. Please know that the Boil Water Advisory will remain in effect until the Village provides Notice that it has ended.

Water Main Break – Boil Water Advisory in Effect

Effective 5:00 pm, August 1, 2026 –

The Village of Holly is issuing a Village-wide boil water advisory effective immediately due to a high-pressure water main break on Quick Rd., west of North Holly Rd. Water customers in the immediate area of Quick Rd. will have no water until the break is restored. Other areas in the vicinity of the break may experience lower than normal water pressure.

As a precaution, all Village water customers should boil tap water before using it for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, preparing food, or providing water to pets.

Water should be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute and allowed to cool before use. Bottled water may also be used.

Tap water may continue to be used for bathing, showering, laundry, and general cleaning. Care should be taken to avoid swallowing the water while bathing or showering.

The Village Department of Public Works is working to address the issue and restore the water system to normal operation. The advisory will remain in effect until required water-quality testing confirms that the water is safe for consumption.

The Village will notify residents when the advisory has been lifted. Updates will be provided through the Village’s official website, social media accounts, local news outlets, and other available communication channels.

Residents should not assume the advisory has ended until an official notice is issued by the Village of Holly.

There is a substantial water main break on Marion Dr at Winifred Dr.

Holly DPW is on the scene, with repairs underway soon.

There is NOT a boil water requirement at this time.

Marion Dr. water pressure will be reduced to the cul de sac area until resolved. We will update this post if a boil water advisory is issued.
