During National Police Week, we pause to honor the men and women who willingly step toward uncertainty so others may live in safety and peace.

Behind every badge is a person—a parent, spouse, friend, son, or daughter—who carries not only the weight of duty, but the quiet responsibility of protecting a community they call home. Their service is measured not only in emergencies and critical moments, but also in countless unseen acts of compassion, sacrifice, and dedication performed every day.

This week especially, we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice and recognize all officers who continue to serve with courage, integrity, and commitment.

Academy Graduation Announcement

The Holly Police Department is proud to introduce our newest Reserve Police Officers, who graduated today from the Oakland Community College Reserve Police Academy.

These dedicated members of the Holly community committed their time and effort to complete the academy from January 15 through April 18, 2026. As Reserve Officers, they volunteer their time to enhance the safety and security of our community, providing an increased presence at local events, parades, and festivals. They also assist our full-time officers during patrols and play an important role during major incidents and emergencies.

Please join us in welcoming (from left to right):
Officer Trason Willemin, Officer Danielle Hernandez, and Officer Ryan Sutton.

Holly was proudly represented in the 2026-1 Academy class. Each of these officers distinguished themselves during training:

Officer Danielle Hernandez earned the Top Driver Award in the emergency driving course, setting a new academy record time.

Officer Ryan Sutton received the Top Gun Award for outstanding fi****ms marksmanship.

Officer Trason Willemin was selected by his peers as Class Vice President.

One of the most meaningful moments of the day was watching their chosen family members pin on their badges for the very first time—a powerful symbol of their commitment to serve.

Please join us in welcoming these officers to the Holly Police Department family. We are confident they will serve our community with pride, professionalism, and dedication.

Community Care & Awareness Alert -

April is Autism Acceptance Month.

Domino’s is proud to support local first responders and families across the state including right here in Holly! On Wednesday, April 15, participating Domino’s locations will donate a portion of sales to help provide Carter Kits to Holly PD Officers. Carter Kits are sensory toolkits designed to help first responders better support individuals with autism during high-stress situations.

On April 15th when you order from the Holly Domino’s at 4048 Grange Hall Rd. Domino’s will donate 20% of your order to purchase Carter Kits for Holly PD Officers.

….and wearing blue is also a simple way to show support, promote understanding, and stand with individuals and families affected by autism. Our officers wear blue every day—this month, we invite our community to join us in blue showing support and raising awareness together.

New Holly Police Department Bicycle Registration Program:

This is a free program for all Village of Holly residents (of all ages).

The Holly Police Department is launching a new Bicycle Registration Program for all Village residents. This simple and voluntary program will help officers quickly identify and return bicycles that are lost, abandoned, or recovered after being taken without permission.

Residents are encouraged to complete the attached registration form for any bicycles you currently own, as well as for any future bicycle purchases. When completing the form, please double-check the bicycle serial number for accuracy before submitting it.

We also encourage everyone to take a few simple precautions to reduce the risk of bicycle theft:

• Use a cable or secure lock when leaving a bicycle in public
• Lock the bicycle to a fixed structure whenever possible
• Store bicycles out of sight and in a secure location at night

Each year, the Holly Police Department recovers many abandoned bicycles, most of which were taken without permission. Unfortunately, very few of these bicycles are ever reported stolen, making it difficult to locate their rightful owners.

This registration system will help Holly officers identify the owner of a found or recovered bicycle and return it quickly. We hope this easy-to-use program provides additional safety, security, and peace of mind for Holly residents.

Please return the completed form via email to: [email protected], by mail to the Holly Police Department at 315 S. Broad St., Holly, MI 48442, or drop it off at the police department.

Celebrating National School Resource Officer (SRO) Appreciation Day

We are proud and grateful for our Holly Police Department SRO team, Ofc. Brendan Westenbarger, Ofc. Celeste Castillo and Ofc. Heather Wolkow.

School Resource Officers stand at the crossroads of safety, mentorship, and service.

They are more than a uniform in the hallway — they are trusted guardians, patient listeners, and steady role models. Each day, they build bridges between law enforcement and young lives, fostering trust while safeguarding the environment where students learn, grow, and dream.

Their mission is not only to protect schools, but to invest in our future.
