Alabama Extension Master Gardener interns integrate online and face-to-face learning activities to reinforce learning. Face-to-face sessions for the 2026 fall course will be hosted in the following counties: Autauga, Chilton, Coffee, Conecuh, Cullman, Dale, DeKalb, Fayette, Limestone, Mobile, Pike, Randolph, Shelby and St. Clair. Butler County residents can participate in the Conecuh County course.

Gardeners can grow through the Alabama Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Program. Apply now for the Master Gardener fall course.

May's Pollinator Plant of the Month is the Eastern Columbine. Bursting into the season, this plant provides nectar, red and yellow blooms, and attractive foliage, while thriving in sun or shade.

In addition to feeding bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, this is an important host plant for caterpillars as well.
