Blackhawk Elementary School

Blackhawk Elementary School Blackhawk Elementary School is an eight-time Illinois Spotlight School Award recipient.

The Blackhawk staff includes 50 highly qualified and dedicated individuals whose common goal is student success. Our building includes 19 classrooms, a multi-purpose room with stage, gym, library, computer lab, expansive playground area and multiple play structures. The district’s English Language Learner program for grades K-4th is located at Blackhawk School. Our dedicated parent volunteer commu

nity, including Blackhawk PTO supports the students and staff of Blackhawk Elementary School throughout the year.

Is it too early to start to talk about back to school? Below you will find the back to school supplies for students in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade!

Students in grades K-5 will need basic school supplies:
● Gym shoes (this is for student safety)
● Kleenex (2 boxes)
● Backpack (no wheels)
● 4 glue sticks
● 24 pack of Pencils
● Pack of Crayola Markers
● Pack of Crayola Crayons
● Pack of Colored Pencils
● Fine tip dry-erase markers (black)
● 1 box of gallon Ziploc bags (Last Name A-M)
● 1 box of quart size Ziploc bags (Last name N-Z)
● 8-2-Pocket Folders (2-Red, 2-Green, 2-Black, 2-Blue)
● 8-Wide Ruled spiral notebooks (2-Red, 2-Green, 2-Black, 2-Blue)
● 1- Pencil Pouch w/zipper- (no pencil boxes please)
● 3 packs lined post-it-notes 3 inch pads (grades 3,4,5)
● 1-pack of loose leaf wide ruled paper
● Please also provide a change of clothes in a Ziploc bag, labeled with the student name
for (K)

On Tuesday, grades K-5, enjoyed a morning at the beautiful Krape Park. Students went for a hike, enjoyed the carousel, played games, and got a lot of sunshine ☀️ What a way to celebrate our 4th quarter of the school year.
